Blog for Friday 1st November 2024

Wow! Good morning, November 2024! Shoo, time flies when you're having fun!

I had a wonderful sleep last night and so did Mich’, and she was feeling a tad better today too.

Plus, we had some rain last night which was most welcome.

I got up and had my Quiet Time and then Felix asked and asked, ever so politely too, to get into Tinus’ cupboard, so Mich’ opened the cupboard door and Felix jumped up onto the shelves and he sniffed, smelt, purred, rubbed and loved the clothes in there –

obviously he is missing Mariaan and Tinus a lot, poor little cat.

I am so happy that Tamryn arrived safely on the farm last night at about eight o’clock, and then Paddy also got there safely at about eleven o’clock. So, now Ken has company – and they are family which makes it extra special.

Today has dawned grey, overcast and we have had several lovely showers of rain, which Mariaan’s garden will so enjoy. And it is nice to hear the sound of rain tip-tapping on the roof.

I have had a wonderfully decadent day - I did some studying this morning, played with Felix, and did some crocheting of my baby shawl, then I went online to see what movies

or series Netflix had to offer, and I have chosen two for us to watch tonight.

I chose “A Woman of the Hour” a suspenseful - thriller - based on a true story; and “Why Him?” – a romantic comedy. We enjoyed both, and because we began to watch early – at about half past five or six o’clock, we were still able to go to bed early.

Mich’s work was full on today but at least she had no rude people to deal with.

It sounds as if Tinus and Mariaan are having fun and enjoying their time with Tiens - their son in Berlin. I am so happy that they are over their jet lag as that drains ones energy.

I have so enjoyed having Mich; here with me for a week – the time has simply whizzed by and I will be sorry to see her go back home tomorrow. We have had a lot of fun just hanging out together.

What lesson did I learn today? Always be grateful. Gratitude colors your day happy.

What am I grateful for today? The rain.

My saying for today is …
