Blog for Friday 8th November 2024

After all the hoo-hah of lights – then no lights last night - and the banging and crashing going on up in heaven with the storm, surprisingly Felix and I ended up having a really good night’s sleep after all!

We obviously   had a good downpour during the night after we went to sleep, as everything is looking washed, clean and soggy in the garden.

This morning, I wrote out my Kids Talk for Sunday and hopefully that will bless the children attending church.

Today, I have spent some time cleaning, vacuuming, dusting and washing, as I want Mariaan to come back home with nothing to do but settle in back home.

I washed the last lot of my clothes and hung them outside to dry in the sunshine on the fantastic clothes lines on wheels that Mariaan has. I love them!

Later, I also began to pack and clear my things away, and tomorrow I will load my car with most of my stuff so that on early Sunday morning I will not have much to pack.

Shame, Felix feels that something is happening, but he is not sure of what and so he hid in Tinus’ cupboard – poor little guy. But little does he know that his ‘Mum’ and ‘Dad’ are coming home soon! I wish I could tell him.

This afternoon I did another few rows of my baby shawl, but I do not think I will be able to finish the main section before I go home. I will try to get some more done tomorrow after making the soup for Mariaan and Tinus, the ironing and the last of the cleaning done.

Today we have had sunshine, but it has not been a hot day at all yet is feels as if we could have another storm later tonight again.

We did not.

What lesson did I learn today? To see what must be done and do it!

What am I grateful for today? A lovely quiet day spent with Felix.

My saying s for today is …

It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts” – Robert H. Schuller
