Well, I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed which is lovely, except it was only two o’clock in the morning! Today … I did not roll over and fall asleep again.
I got up. No good tossing and turning when I was that wide awake. Not even Shamara was keen to join me although I put her food out!
I had an extra early Quiet Time this morning, and that also gave me a few extra hours in my day to get things done. So, it was a blessing as I got a LOT of washing done throughout the day.
I had thought of beginning to sort out all the books and two book shelf units at the back of the shed today, but as I seem to be sniffling and snorting a bit (I may have caught Ken's cold?) I thought I would rather slow down a pace or two.
I decided to try and work out how to work this elaborate kitty litter machine which looks absolutely, awesome! Here began much scratching of my head! I am looking a little bald now but hopefully Shamara now has a rather elegant bathroom!
Not quite functioning yet, but I am getting closer!
Well talk about exercise! I have gone up and down my stairs, down and up, up and down countless times – from instructions on my computer to the cat litter machine down in the main area of the shed, trying to link it up and onto Wi-Fi too. I am so close, but not there yet, which is so frustrating and a GREAT patience lesson – yet again!
That is where getting older is a pain – this trying to keep up with technology that changes at the speed of light! But …with persistence, perspiration, patience, determination and a smile I will get here!
In between running up and down the stairs I had done masses of washing, which is a good thing. A lot of it is not for ironing, but it all needed to be washed – towels, mats and so on. Unfortunately, with it being a rainy sort of day, I now have stuff draped everywhere again. I am very grateful for these dividing posts that Paddy has erected in the shed so far, to divide it up as I can use them as my ‘washing lines’ before they are shelved and Gyproc ked!
Tomorrow I must get stuck into cleaning – cleaning – cleaning! The spiders have had a field day while I was away, and I see their handiwork draped all over the show. Artistic little creatures they are and workaholics nog al!
In the mid-afternoon - our good friend Peter came over to see what has to be done in Tamryn’s container – to get an idea of the amount of work still to be done.
Then Peter and Ken came in and had some coffee and biscuits with me before Peter left to go home and to have a chat (via phone or text) with Tamryn about what has to be done.
Ken called me to help him separate the three bulls that had managed to wheedle their way into the cow herd. My job was to look intelligent and close and open the one gate on Ken’s bellowing! One of the bulls, JAB1530, who is known to be stroppy, was not amused at being removed from the herd and he gave me a meaningful glare through the fence – which suddenly seemed awfully inadequate to keep the two of us separate! I have witnessed many times how these really, weighty bulls charge through the fences like a hot knife through butter, or suddenly levitate and fly over them like a ballerina would! I was hoping neither of those options happened.
They did not.
I came rather muddy to the rear end as the dogs had been on the back of the quad bike after running through every muddy puddle on the farm, so I headed to have a nice hot shower and with a little luck maybe read a page or two of my book.
I think Ken and I can have the leftover steaks, roasted potatoes, veggies and cheese sauce for our supper tonight. Wonderful!
Well. what was all the hoo hah about we could have 20-40mm of rain today, which slowly got lower and lower during today? I checked just now and we had only had just over 4mm! That was at about six o'clock.
What lesson did I learn today? More patience!
What am I grateful for today? That I am hopefully a step closer to sorting out this awesome cat litter machine!
My saying for today is...
