Blog for Monday 27th October 2025

My day began at a quarter to four this morning because that is when I just woke up - ready for a new day to live the height, width and length of it.

I had slept well, not waking up once, plus I was in bed at just after eight o'clock, so I was well rested.

Once I had dressed and had breakfast - yes, can you believe that? I am, following Mich's example of making an effort to eat breakfast even though I am happy to go without. This morning, I made toast covered with mashed avo', mixed leaves and a boiled egg - and it was delicious. A good kick-start to the day of protein!

Next, I spent time catching up with emails - something I had neglected badly. I paid utility bills - ugh! Then I finished off catching up on my Two-Year Bible Study - well, on the days I had missed while doing the study on the Book of Daniel.

I also did a brief Bible study on a Bible character that I needed some info' on - as on Wednesday at our Bible Study Group we will re-hash Tony's sermon, and I wanted the facts, verses et cetera on the one guy who was part of the cause of splitting the kingdom after king Solomon. Done.

I sat outside for a while with Felix. He is rather cute as he is following me around and joins me wherever I am. While I was busy in the study on my laptop, he sat on the desk alongside me and then retired to the armchair in there.

Felix dozing on the desk alongside me.

His eyes half-open to check on what is happening in the garden outside.

At midday while I chomped on some Kiwi fruit, I watched some TV and then read my book. I got a fair amount of knitting (the baby shawl I am busy making) done while watching TV so did not feel too guilty!

I added more liquid to the homemade soup that I created the other day as it needed it. That was my supper tonight with some toast. I absolutely love soup - well homemade soup as I know what veggies are in it and the goodness they hold.

Felix fast asleep on the armchair near me.

Tomorrow, I think I will set aside as a day of art for me. I have neglected my art for too long and need to get back into doing that for me as I do so enjoy it.

This morning, I also started to get back into my routines - Quiet Time, uploading my blog, exercises and then doing my history online learning! At the moment I am learning about the abolishment of slavery in the USA.

This evening, I had a Zoom SRE meeting which concerned this last school term and the beginning of next year already!

After the meeting I took myself off to bed and was soon sound asleep.

What lesson did I learn today? It is important to have good routines for each day.

What am I grateful for today? The attention of one feline - Felix!

My saying for today is ...
