Oh dear! I was obviously active in my dreaming last night as my poor bedside lamp was once again knocked over and the things on my bedside table scattered far and wide!
I fed Shamara and tiptoed up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and Bible Study – shoo, almost into my second year of reading through the whole Bible chronologically! We began this is February or March last year! That is Mich’ and I.
After breakfast Paddy headed off to work in the bottom shed again and I began to sort out the living area – especially the kitchen area and put away ironing et cetera.
I did another few loads of washing and hung it out to flap happily in the sunshine and breeze.
But … some (unrepeatable words) bull ant bit me twice on the toe when I was out there hanging up the washing. He died shortly after that act! Yikes! That was really ainah and stings for a while. I managed to unearth a Stingose aerosol to spray on the bites which helped a little. I did not have any kind thoughts about bull ants for a while!
Paddy worked like a Trojan down at the bottom shed, moving bales of silage out to the cattle, and tipping the scrap metal into the crevasses on the farm to be later weighed down with rocks and earth.
I continued working in the top shed tidying, tidying, sweeping, mopping – all the normal Mrs Housewifely stuff!
I saw Paddy really battling with the water pump down at the dam alongside the bottom shed, so Raafie and I walked down to see if I could help, but …I could not. I thought I could maybe be able to switch the pump on and off when Paddy needed that, or hold the hose or something, so – just another pair of hands, but nope, that was not going to help at all. So, Raafie and I strolled back up to the top shed to continue working up there.
Ken has had a very quiet day again today.
Frik, a friend of ours had originally said he would be out today to do a spot of fishing, but then he had to cancel it as something had come up that he had to attend to at home instead.
In the late afternoon I went up to my studio and printed out all the forms and articles that I may need for my meeting tomorrow with the previous SRE Co-Ordinator as I am – well I was meant to take over his position at the beginning of 2024, but … that did not happen. So, tomorrow we are meeting in Wauchope and hopefully we can iron out what needs ironing out!
For our supper tonight I have made a large smoosh of all the cooked meat from recent leftovers (the dogs got the other old leftovers,) and mixed it with diced tomatoes, butter beans, leftover lasagna and a little water with spices added, and will soften that in the oven later, and serve it with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Then that will be all the leftovers done and dusted! Whoo-hoo!
My new washing machine is working like a charm and is really cleaning the grubbiest of farm clothes beautifully. I am so proud of it.
Today I have been so good – I am doing my best to drink a lot of water especially on these hot days. I am not a normal water drinker so have started that habit this year and am trying hard to stick to it. Friends of ours gave us some Elderberry cordial which is absolutely delicious, and I have been using that in some of my water today.
Something else I want to do is to write down my goals for this year for me personally – physically, mentally and spiritually, for our home, our garden, then craft wise – in painting, drawing, calligraphy or writing, plus my project of making baby items for our great-grandchildren and so on. I find that when I write my goals down, I normally achieve them, and especially if I link them to timelines too.
What lesson did I learn today? Plan it, write it down, do it!
What am I grateful for today? That once again I am on top of all the washing and ironing.
My saying for today
