This morning, I slowly opened one eye and then the other - hey, I was on holiday and could do things slowly! Plus, this eye opening happening only took place at about half past five as I was taking this whole 'being on holiday' seriously!
It was just wonderful to lie there on an oh-so-comfortable-queen bed listening and watching the ocean move constantly. There is something rather magical about that rhythmic movement that causes one to relax completely.
Last night's thunderstorm had washed the landscape and so everything looked crisp and clean this morning, but it was a little cooler, with an overcast grey sky and the wind was a little too brisk for comfort, so we decided to stay at home for the day and just have a slow and lazy day here.
Both Mich' and I showered late in the morning, had a late breakfast and then started on our study of the Book of Daniel together. Today we watched and listened to two sessions and Mich' is loving this study as I do.
Next. we chose a couple of DVDs that belong here to this home, and we watched a Tautly Towers one and laughed until we almost cried. Such a happy feeling!
We had a light lunch and then Mich' went off to have her afternoon nap, which she so deserves and needs, while read my book and began to do some smocking on my little great=granddaughter's dress.
Mich' enjoyed a soaking in the spar bath upstairs while I did some more smocking downstairs and then we flicked through Netflix to find some movies that we could watch tonight.
We chose two whodunnit type of movies and enjoyed them both. By the time they were finished it was well after eleven o'clock and time for bed. Tonight Mich' decided to sleep in a different room and she chose to sleep in a queen size bed instead of the single bed she chose on our first night here, which would be a much better choice, I think. Plus, I made me feel a little less pig-like having the grand main bedroom en suite!
Seeing that we had such a quiet day I thought I would just add some photos from my special day in Port Macquarie that I have received from different people so far.

I could kick myself for not organising someone to take photos for me on my special night. Silly oversight. But I am sure I will get a few more photos from family and friends.
It really as a happy evening and I am so grateful to Mich' and Robert for choosing the venue so wisely - it was absolutely perfect.
Thank you too to Mich' and Robert. Paddy and Ren' for all the catering costs that they paid for - it was a magical weekend.

What lesson did I learn today? To forgive oneself when you forget to do important things! Like getting someone to take photos on your behalf!
What am I grateful for today? My incredible family who I love with all my heart.
My saying for today is ...
