When I went to bed last night, I thought I would just watch a snippet of the series Mich’ suggested I would enjoy. Oh dear! Fatal mistake!
I did not a watch a snippet, instead I watched one whole episode and having gone to bed vey late that did not help me to get up this morning! I only rolled out of bed at a quarter to five, much to my cat’s disgust! She gave me a thousand silent words, but I was left in no doubt about she was thinking about me. I knew exactly where I stood with her, I was on the lowest rung on the scale of popularity!
As I was busy feeding her, Frik came through for a wee break and he soon toddled back to bed to catch a little more shuteye for a while. I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time.
Wow! We are now into the third month of 2025!
Remember I said that I had taken that photo of our supper the other night, but could not send it as my phone was full or was short on storage or some such complicated hoo-hah? Well, I managed to transfer it - sorry not a good photo but one I DID take when I said I did!

There! Now I feel better for showing you it! Hopefully I think of something to take a a photo of today!
I did.
Three little succulents growing on my windowsill in my studio are truly happy there.

Frik headed off to lure and catch another fish at about
seven o’clock this morning after having had a few mugs of coffee and rusks to keep him going.
When Ken got up he filleted the fish for Frik and I wrapped the pieces up,(which were really nice big pieces) and put them in the fridge for Frik to take home to Adri, his wife. They can enjoy a lovely fish and chips meal together.
When Frik got back from his first skirmish to catch a fish we all had some raisin toast and coffee together before going our separate ways again. Frik to fish and sight his rifle in. Ken to have a snooze and me to shorten and hem all Ken’s longs for him. A severe test of patience for me this altering Ken’s longs, but a labour of love even if my back teeth were ground to a powder
For our lunch I made several different kinds of savoury sandwiches for the three of us!
Just after lunch Jason and Dylan (father and one of his sons) who normally come to the farm over weekends popped up to say, ”Hi!” and have a chat - they also brought chocolates and a bottle of wine to thank us! We now have a large collection of chocolates and wines! So generous of our guests,
After lunch both Ken and Frik headed off to their beds to have a rest as it was very hot outside - impossible to do anything without melting!
I continued with my measuring, cutting, pinning and tacking the hems of all Ken’s longs that he wanted altered. Then at a quarter to four I decided I could take a break and just listen to my audio book without doing anything else for a change. So, I did so, but not for long.
Tonight, I will grill some porterhouse steaks, I have mashed potatoes already made and will make some fried rice for those that prefer rice to potatoes and will serve peas with that. For our dessert we have so many chocolates to choose from - so that will be dessert!
I have already warned Ken that we have to leave the farm early in the morning in order to get to church long before the service as we are on Tea Duty, so need to stop to buy milk on our way in, then set things up. I am not sure whether we will be serving at lunch time too. We have a visiting missionary coming to address the congregation tomorrow and after the service we will have a light finger food meal together.
What lesson did I learn today? Slow and steady wins the race.
What am I grateful for today? The kindness of friends.
My saying for today is ...
