My goodness gracious golly gee! We are already in the second to last month of 2025! Can you believe that? Where has this year disappeared to so quickly, I ask you with tears in my eyes and a confused look on my face!
Today I decided that Felix and I would take the day gently and very slowly - which we did!
I did the rest of the bedlinen washing today and the towels as I want everything to be clean and tidy when Mariaan and Tinus get back home. I will make the beds up before I leave too. I will put my bedlinen on to wash very early on the day when I leave, and tumble dry it before putting it back on the bed.
Today, after my normal morning routines, I sat with Felix outside for a short while and then I got into some serious knitting for the rest of the day.
At three o'clock there was the loud rumbling of thunder and flashing of lightning happening overhead, and Felix is absolutely terrified of storms so was stuck to me like glue. But we did not get the storm here - we must have been just on the edge of it as we had a brief spit and spat of rain and then it was gone. I was thankful that we did not get any hail or severe thunderstorm though.
I have thoroughly enjoyed today just watching TV and knitting. I happened upon the Fawlty Towers episodes and as I have not watched them for ages, I so enjoyed watching them again. I just love the sense of humour in these clips - ridiculous but oh-so funny and I got to laugh out loud many times over. So good for the soul.
I am off to church in the morning so will go to bed early again tonight. I am also enjoying that - the going to bed early and having a good night sleep, but I miss my man and am looking forward to going home next week.
I finished off the butter chicken tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it once more. I think I will try something different tomorrow. I find it difficult to cook for one person, therefore I have to eat the same old same old for several days!
What lesson did I learn today? To enjoy the time here as I get to do the knitting I want to do for our future great-grandchildren.
What am I grateful for today? A quiet and very gentle day with Felix.
My saying for today is ...
