I had a lovely sleep last night … well, if I dreamt there was no evidence of that – I did no whacking of my poor man alongside me, the lamp was still on my bedside table and so were the alarm clock, my book et cetera. So, to all intents and purposes I had behaved!
I fed Shamara as soon as I got up – we removed the bandage around her back leg bleeding ‘elbow’ joint (as Paddy had said to do if it began to swell,) and she was remarkably well behaved. She initially meowed one very loud meow - loud and strong enough to raise the roof of the shed, but I think she was grateful for the relief of having it taken off. I wish I could understand her feline language. Well, maybe not what she said then! I had my Quiet Time and then tried to do my normal Bible Study, but the transcript was not online this morning which was a disappointment. It meant I had to listen and type, listen and type to get the notes done and it took me for ever and a day to do so. But … I did them!
I am always having to do patience testing lessons! So, I could not be doing that well in them!
I spray painted the three apples with gold paint and they look lovely, I think. Next, I cut three agapanthus flowers, in various stages of flowering and height – and got shocked by the electric fence as I did so! So, my eyebrows are little higher up my forehead than normal now! I also sprayed a reed-like stem silver – all these are for my flower arrangement in church tomorrow. If it looks okay I will try to remember to take a photo for you.
Next, while I painted my nails, I listened to a bit of my audio book and then waited for my nails to dry.
After which I began to plan in earnest for Christmas time, plus although we are not directly involved, for New Year. Tamryn has invited lots and lots of her friends and family to camp in the Pteridium Camp over the New Year period – all catering for themselves, and she has hired a port-a-loo for that time too. They should have great fun out there I am sure, as they can play their music as loud as they like as they cannot disturb anyone!
Where I will be involved is in keeping the fridges clean, cold and with some free space, so they can all have a place to keep their foodstuffs and drinks cold. I think that could cause the odd hiccup if there are loads and loads of people arriving! But I am sure we will all manage.
For me this Christmas, I am basically only catering for eight people over about nine or ten days. Mich’ and Robert will share that load, but I need to do the planning first. So, today I began looking at recipes and what and when to create different dishes. I told my butcher that I would place my Christmas order with him this Tuesday so I will have to get my head together for that.
I also worked on deciding what games to play at school this coming week. I have chosen several and nearer the time will settle on the “right” ones. My lesson notes were already half done so I finished them today.
For our supper tonight I baked us a beef pie each, served with lots of salad on the side. Something simple but filling and quick and easy.
I crawled into bed as soon as I could and listened to my audio book until I began to fall asleep.
I will have t rewind the last two chapters; I think!
What lesson did I learn today? Patience, I am hoping!
What am I grateful for today? A day of getting things done.
My saying for today is …
