Blog for Saturday 2nd November 2024

I was awake very early this morning   - in fact, just after half past three but I lay in bed and read my book before getting up a little later.

I had my Quiet Time and was greeted by Felix, who is becoming more and more loving with each day that I am here.

Both Mich’ and I showered and dressed before going into town -   Mich’ to get her nails done and me to get my hair trimmed a little as it is beginning to look a little wild and woolly again!

We whipped around Settlement City centre and then stopped at Koorong Christian Bookshop, as Mich’ wanted to get a gift for someone, and I picked up one of the books that I will be giving to the kids that go up to High School next year.

From there we drove to Coast café which is almost right on the beach at Lighthouse Beach – what a lovely spot and the day was beautiful. Mich’ took me to lunch (when I had wanted to take her), but we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was promptly served and nicely presented too. Mich’ had a beef burger and chips and I had a breakfast roll with avo’ – all very yummy and filling.

Then it was time to get back home as I really wanted Mich’ to have a good afternoon snooze, as she drives back home (to Terrigal on the Central Coast,) tomorrow. I tried to sleep too but, nope, no can do! So, I got up and listened to a podcast instead.

When Mich’ got up she went downstairs and vacuumed my little car for me – honestly, she has spoilt me non-stop while being here with me. Mariaan has a vacuum cleaner that is strong enough to vacuum my car, which is marvelous as I cannot do that at home, because I cannot get my car across the river and my vacuum cleaner is an electric one!

As the sun slid down the sky we went and sat on the back deck to play a quick game or two of ‘Bananagram’ before settling down to watch something on TV.

We watched "An Invisible Victim" with sub-titles but it was good.

Yoh! I will miss Mich’s company when she goes!

On the farm Paddy has been looking after Ken for me by making all the meals for him. "Bless you Paddy!"

What lesson did I learn today? To appreciate any time I get to spend with a member/members of our family.

What am I grateful for today? For Mich’s vacuuming my car properly for me this afternoon.

My saying for today is
