Yahee! It is one of my little sister’s birthdays today! “Happy Birthday Sheelagh! Enjoy turning the age of the seventy, dearie - it is a g-r-e-a-t age to be! Enjoy! It looks as if you have had a wonderful time at the private game reserve with Tony (her husband) Ash’ (their daughter who is expecting their first little one,) and Dave (Ash’s husband.) Check this photo out of them posing with a real, live elephant!

Ashleigh and Dave are out from the UK to visit Sheelagh and Tony in honor of Sheelagh’s 70th and also to share the exciting news of a “Baby Reveal” with them too. All exciting and wonderful moments of magical sharing.
When I got up this morning I fed my dear old feline, made my way up to my studio where I had my Quiet Time, did my Bible studying and chose my proverb for the day.
It was not raining when I got up although I could see, via the weather information and radar that a lot of rain was coming our way later in the day. Just another lovely quiet day at home, warm and dry.
We had a further 32mm of rain overnight, so everything is pretty wet outside at the moment, which makes me more aware of the blessings of being warm, dry with a roof over our heads, food and beds.to snuggle down into.
Today, I continued sorting out my old CD’s of photos, articles and the like. Unfortunately some I cannot read as they are scratched or for some other reason unbeknown to me!
That took me forever and a day to do, but I feel happy to have completed that.
Next, I went downstairs again and cleaned out the two fridges. Then whilst I was outside checking to see if we had had any rain, my bread addicted bovine, JAB9113 came to the fence and begged my with her eyes for some bread. Luckily for her I had only just put all the leftover bread in a packet, so she waited patiently while I went to fetch it. Bless her four hooves!
We had only had 8mm of rain so far, (by early afternoon) and most of it was just very soft mist-like drizzle.
Then I got our supper ready - mashed potatoes, butternut, and peas with chicken in a mushroom sauce.
The river is still roaring and rising up, up, up, as although we may not have had that much rain here, up stream from us obviously has! Ken was telling me earlier that the powers that be said the cyclone was moving a lot slower than anticipated which may mean we will be unable to get off the farm for some time, as we have not yet had the heavy rains expected! Yoh! That should be interesting.
I thought I would share a photo I took in 2007 of two of our six grandsons - Matt’ (Paddy and Ren’s son) and Ethan (Mich’ and Robert’s youngest son). In this photo they are six years old (Matt’) and Ethan was four years old, and they had a magnificent mud fight here on the farm … the end result was this -

These two are now 24 and 22 years respectively and they have always been very close mates as cousins. Plus, they still come to the farm as often as they are able to which is such a blessing to us.

This re-loading of muddy paws was serious business!
What lesson did I learn today? How precious photos are as they reignite memories and transport one back to the moments captured by the click of a camera.
What am I grateful for today? Photos.
My saying for today is …
