Happy New Year to you all! May this year be one of your best yet! Enjoy!

I fed my yowling-howling feline then went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time.

Ken and went off to church this morning and yes, we had to cross the river on the tractor, as you do! Paddy has the ute’ down on the Central Coast as he wants to bring up more plants for the farm when he comes up next week. Plus, the large quad bike is out of commission as it needs a coil and bearings – or some such things, and the small quad bike will not get us across the river crossing after the rain we have just had! So, the tractor it was!

We bounced, banged and bumped across the river crossing and even got to church in time this morning! Hallelujah!

Yoh! Driving in to Wauchope we drove through some very heavy rain – so heavy, that I had the windscreen wipers on at full speed several times and the windows fogged up and we had to put the heater and aircon’ at the same time to clear them.

It was good to see our friends in church as we thought that more people would still be away, so it was a pleasant surprise to see so many in church this morning.

After church Ken and I went through to port Macquarie to see our good friend Ken – who recently had a spinal stroke – a few days before Christmas - and is now paralysed from the waist down, poor guy. I am praying so hard for him to be able to get some movement in his legs or the doctors told him that he will not be returning home at all! Pretty harsh statement to come to terms with. I said to Ken that he must just add ONE word at the end of his sentence of “I have absolutely no feeling in my legs.” That word being, “I have absolutely no feeling in my legs …yet!” Small little word, but one full of hope and that is what I am claiming for him!

Ken was looking cheerful, and his eyes still twinkled which made me so much happier for having seen him. This is a hard and very difficult road for him, and I pray for strength and courage that he may travel it and travel it well and successfully.

Daphne also needs our prayers as it is a very difficult time for her too, watching her always on-the-go and ever healthy man unable to even get out of bed without help any more. (Ken was saying that it takes two fully trained nurses half an hour to get him out of bed!) Daphne needs courage, strength and patience in large dollops.

On our way out of Port Macquarie and on our way heading home, Ken (my Ken) suggested that the two of us go and have lunch at the Wauchope Country Club. I was in total agreement!

I was pleasantly surprised as the club was full but not packed as it can sometimes get. So, I decided to take a few tickets in the raffle, and I won TWO prizes! Two trays of meat – (both containing a large steak with three chops in the tray), so with a few add-ons, one evening, for when Paddy, and Matt’ are with us – we can have a braai outside. Yummy!

When we got home, as so often happens, the heavens decided to open and release some more water over us! So the banging, bouncing and bumping across the river on the tractor was a rather soggy journey. I was saturated, as sitting on the wheel well, I was not protected from the elements at all! I had to dry off , put on other clothes and dry my hair once home! But it was good to get more rain no matter how soggy I got!

Once home Ken headed off to have his siesta and I went up to continue sorting out my studio which looked as if a bomb had exploded in it! Yeah, that is what happens when I begin to tidy – I create chaos before sorting things out, I try to de-clutter too and then restore order.

We had another shower of rain which gave us a further 9mm of rain! Whoop-dee-doo-dee! I am just loving this rain.

Tonight I finished watching the movie “The Shiralee” on Netflix – I really enjoyed it – a good old fashioned Australian story that gave one a feel-good feeling when it finished!

What lesson did I learn today? How much I have to be grateful for in my life.

What am I grateful for today? My health.

My saying for today is …
