A new day arrived silently – landing at our front door just waiting for us to live in it to the full extent we could! How marvelous!
I fed Shamara, made my coffee and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time, do my Bible Study and get my things together for teaching at school a little later.
Matt’ and Peter were up and out working in the container by about seven o’clock – and thankfully today was a little cooler and with a promise of some rain
Ken was up early too as he had an appointment in Port Macquarie and so I soon waved him off the farm to see him bang and bounce across the river and disappear from my view.
I did a little ironing (oh dear, there is a pile of it to do again! I am sure it grows during the night!) Then I showered and got dressed but just in ‘home clothes’ as I still had a few hours before I left for school.
At about midday both Peter and Matt’ came down the hill (from where the container sits) and off Peter went back home and Matt’ came back here to shower, pack and leave for the Central Coast again. They had completed what they could do now and will continue their work next week some time.
While Matt’ showered I quickly put on my ‘school clothes’ and was ready for him to take me across the river to my car. I was grateful for his lift as I always have stuff to carry – normally the games paraphernalia I need for the lessons - and taking that across the river on the quad bike demands nerves of steel from me! “So, thanks Matt’!
I was one whole hour early for school, so I sat in my little car at school with the air-conditioner on and read my book. What decadence!
I had an extra special day at school today – both classes were angelic, and we all had such a happy time together – and the teachers in both the classes joined in which was fun too. There is something magical about a classroom full of happy smiling and laughing children – it fills the air with such energy and sheer delight!
As I was leaving the school I phoned Ken, (as he was home by then), to ask him to give me a lift across the river, which he did happily for me.
Once home, Ken headed off to have his siesta and I did some notes for our Bible Study Group tomorrow.
I then got our supper ready and not long after that I tumbled into bed and was soon sound asleep.
Ken sat up as he was to fetch Paddy and Tamryn and get them across the river at about ten o’clock’.
As I closed my eyes I smiled quietly – today had been another lovely day in my life!
What lesson did I learn today? The hours and hours of my studying and the pouring over looking for suitable games to present to the children pays off when I see those happy little faces listening intently or laughing with delight!
What am I grateful for today? Time spent with children.
My saying for today is …
