Blog for Thursday 9th October 2025

I love that feeling when I open my eyes first thing in the morning – because that means I have already opened two gifts before getting out of bed! I need to remember that and not take so many things for granted.

Today is Bryan’s birthday – he is the eldest of my three brothers, and who is only 362 days younger than me! We sent him happy greetings and wished he lived closer.

I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and write out my ‘To Do List’ which seemed to grow and grow throughout the day!

I did a load of washing and hung it out.

I cleaned my little robot mopper and sweeper and set her to work. What an incredible blessing this little machine is to me. “Thanks Paddy!”

I made the beds in the main area of the shed as Paddy and Matt’ are meant to arrive on the farm tonight.

Later, Paddy phoned to say they would drive up early tomorrow rather as Paddy had had really heavy work and long hours in the vet emergency clinic and was beyond whacked. He badly needed to sleep.

In the afternoon I began packing bags of the things we need to take to the B&B tomorrow – I pray that I have thought of everything.

Ken finished carting the bales across the river to the bottom shed area.

I worked out what clothes to pack for Ken and me but will pack them tomorrow.

I cleaned, swept, dusted and mopped the bathroom and our bedroom, swept the living area. I will mop there tomorrow before we leave the farm.

I helped Ken take the TV off the Ute’ and wrenched my wrist in doing so. Tough tacky dearie, get moving! No time for any whinging.

I then took the quad bike and Raafie accompanied me across the river to give my car a wash to remove the excess dust on it.

While over there I suddenly remembered that I had a Church Board Meeting and had to race back home for that. I was almost five minutes late getting online for the Zoom meeting as my laptop has died and I had not loaded the Zoom app onto the i-pad yet!

Shoo! Talk about working up a sweat

I need not have stressed as Ian (our secretary) was having problems with his computer or phone and had to hop in his car and whip over to Wendy’s to chair the meeting from there!

When there is a will there is a way!

Ken and I just had his favourite meal tonight as my energy levels were not even registering - baked beans on toast!

I flopped into bed and was soon sound asleep.

What lesson did I learn today? To work through my To Do List systematically.

What am I grateful for today? Having got a lot done in one day.

My saying for today is …
