Blog for Thursday9th January 2025

I almost destroyed my alarm clock when it began its little ditty in the wee hours of this morning! Rats! There was absolutely no way I was getting up at that hour as I had had a broken night’s  sleep and felt as if I had spent a week in my tumble drier!

I slept on and got up at just after five o’clock.

I fed   my beautiful feline and had my  Quiet Time and did part of my Bible study but today we had a LOT to do, so I will catch up on that another day.

Tamryn left the farm at about seven to meet up with Peter down the road, and together they went into Bunnings to buy the things she would be needing next  for her little container home.

Then once Matt’ was awake – Paddy and I were already up and  moving, we began to clear the shed.

Oh! My goodness gracious, golly gee! It went on and on and on and on! Just when you thought you had almost got to the end, you  looked around and saw what still had to be packed!

It was downright scary!

First thing this morning after Matt’ woke up, Paddy and Matt’ erected the tarps – a new design this time, and I thought that they did a magnificent job.

Seeing we had to remove EVERYTHING out the shed in order to be able to skim the concrete floors, stain them and seal them, we had to have somewhere that the rain could not ruin things, and they created the perfect  spot!

In between carrying things and packing them in the large wooden containers, I did washing, hung it out and brought it in when the rain threatened to fall. Luckily, both times, the washing was dry!

Tamryn got back from her trip into town with Peter, and she got Paddy and Matt’ to help her unload all the stuff she had bought as the rain was just about to fall. They managed to get it unpacked and into her container before the heavens leaked a little!

Yoh! This has been a huge job, and I am so excited to be creating a new home for us. I am not scared of hard work especially when it is for something beautiful – and our home will be just that!

Ken spread the fertilizer that he brought from town yesterday (one ton,) and he managed to cover the Small River Camp and about a third of the Large River Camp before the rain stopped his work.

Both Tamryn and Matt’ had a snooze  in  the afternoon but Paddy and I continued packing, packing,  packing. Later Tamryn helped Paddy carry some of the heavy items – the desk, the table and so on.

For our supper I made lasagna and served it with a salad, but we ate late - I had a lovely hot shower before they went out rabbit hunting and felt so much better for having done so! Yoh! One gets seriously grubby doing this work of packing up a huge shed!

Paddy, Tamryn and Matt’ went out rabbit hunting using Matt’s new guns! Last night Matt’ shot and  brought home five rabbits, skinned and cooked them for the dogs, who were delighted at the delicacies in their food bowls! Tonight they brought home three rabbits.

We all ate at diffeent times and I soon disappeared off to bed as there was a great weariness descending on my body!

What lesson did I learn today? Persist no matter what!

What am I grateful for today? The amount of work we all  managed to do.

My saying for today is … For Paddy, Matt’ and Tamryn
