Blog for Tuesday 21st October 2025

ree

My day began as usual at four o'clock this morning and I had my Quiet Time sitting up in bed. Later, I uploaded my blog from yesterday onto our website.

I peeped out the window into the darkness and had to wait for a while to be able to see what the day looked like. The day arrived with a sky that was a dark grey, lumpy with clouds and a lot cooler than yesterday.

This was not a swimming or beach day as it was also windy. It was most definitely an inside sort of day, or maybe a shopping sort of day, which was fine by both Mich' and I.

After having had a coffee or two we watched another DVD episode of the series on the Book of Daniel before showering, getting dressed and heading off into Salamander Bay shopping centre.

We found a delightful restaurant and had a late breakfast/early lunch there before we walked around the centre seeing what we could see. We walked around one of the dress shops that was bulging with beautiful clothes at ridiculous prices causing us to almost choke with horror!

I bought myself two bras in Best & Less and as we were walking out of there a magpie flew in and made itself at home sitting on one of the shelves, thus causing some woman to almost faint with hysteria! Another woman quickly coaxed the poor bewildered bird to follow some food crumbs on the floor so she could catch it and release it outside. I bet that bird had a lot to tell its feathered friends today!

Once home again, we watched another DVD on 'The Book of Daniel' before heading upstairs to have a rest, relax or to read. WE are both getting pretty good at this whole thing of resting and relaxing! Marvellous!

In the late afternoon we phoned Kerry' (my eldest daughter who lives in in South Africa) and we had a long chat before the internet froze or went down or whatever internets/wi-fis can do. As Kerry' is visiting Tyra' and Andrew at the moment we got to see little baby Cole too online. He is so cute and is a little round pumpkin of a baby having gained another kilo! He is simply adorable.

Then Mich' and I played three rounds of Bananagram with much laughter and giggling as we battled one another in this word game.

Suddenly, it was night. Time to watch one program on TV and then we headed off to bed for another early night. I think it was about half past nine or there abouts when we were both tucked up and in our respective beds.

It had been another lovely day in Fishermen's Bay.

What lesson did I learn today? There is a beauty about grey days too.

What am I grateful for today? Another happy day here at the seaside.

My saying for today is ...
