Blog for Tuesday 5th September 2023

I just love their expressions!)
“Happy-Happy Birthday Ke, Dad and I wish you a simply splendiferous day and may the year stretching out before you be crammed with fulfilled goals, dreams unfolded, fun, laughter, love and happy adventures!” Love you.
I woke up at 3.33am and turned off my alarm and slept until five o’clock! What a wicked wench!
I fed my feline before her cries and wails of hunger woke the entire household up! She has no shame!
I tiptoed upstairs to my studio to have my Quiet Time and then later I went downstairs again, as Paddy was up and he was heading out to the back of the farm where he wanted to finish off the fencing project he started this time when he was up on the farm for a week.
Paddy had just made himself some toast and a coffee when “Schoef!”, off went the electricity without any warning whatso ever! Very annoying as we are normally always given notice of any outages. The other day we were meant to have an outage, but because of the heavy rain on that day, we did not, so I guess this outage today was because of that? Still, rather annoying!
Had I known this outage was going to happen I would have organised and sent our ecard to Kerry our daughter earlier, as it is her birthday today. But … I managed to send it in the late afternoon as soon as the electricity was on again, and luckily Kerry’ was only just waking up in South Africa then!
I phoned her too and we were able to have a good long chat with lots of laughter too. Geepers! I miss her and cannot wait to see her in a few weeks, when I fly out for the wedding. Whoo-hoo! I am flying out with Mich’ and Robert which is wonderful as I would not fancy flying out on my own.
Before Paddy left the farm to return home (Terrigal NSW) he cleaned out the gutters of the top shed. Ken was standing below and was on high alert in case Paddy decided to drop some of the mud onto his head! Family!

Tonight, we are having cold meats – chicken, roast beef and ham with a tossed salad and buttered potatoes. Nice and easy and it has been a hot day so something light a cold will be welcomed.
What lesson did I learn today? To be able to change my plans for the day when we have a sudden unexpected outage. I did, although with a lot of silent muttering.
What am I grateful for today? A magnificent day to be alive in!
My saying for today is …
