I woke up at ten to four and then turned my alarm clock off and rolled over for another few minutes in bed! I was out of bed a short while after that, but not really looking bright eyed and bushy tailed!
I fed my poor starving, neglected (not!) feline and then headed up to my studio as quietly as the creaking stairs would allow. I had my Quiet Time and did my Bible Study for the day before going downstairs to have a shower and get dressed.
I think I left the farm at before nine and took a slow drive into Wauchope. Although fairly heavy rain had been predicted for our are today, none was falling when I drove into town.
I parked and walked up to the News Agents and then I popped into the chemist to get some mascara and lipstick as mine was finito.
I then drove to the Timbertown IGA – actually I wanted to call in at The Holy Cow butchery, but to my consternation, they were closed! So, I popped into the IGA alongside them and got a few items that we needed. I also want to make more Rocky Road dessert, so needed the ingredients for that.
Then I went back into town to meet Will’ (the previous SRE Co-Ordinator) so he could hand the position over to me at last! We met at the Classy Café and he bought me my coffee, which was very kind of him, and we went through what I will have to do to fill this position. He also ordered the SRE books – the teacher’s manual and magazines online for me, so I could see how to go about it.
I hope I will be a good Co-Ordinator as these teachers need encouragement and I will try to give that to them all.
I contacted Paddy to say I was on my way home and he said that we may pass one another on the road as he had to go into Port Macquarie. In fact, we met exactly at our Highway gate!
Ken was up and about just after two o’clock today and Paddy got back home here with the load he had picked up in town at about three o’clock or so.
Apparently Tamryn and Matt’ were going into Port Macquarie on their way to the farm and then they had to go through to Kempsey as well, to get more sealant for the concrete floors in the shed. Shame, they only got here to the farm at just before seven o’clock!
All three of them – Paddy, Tamryn and Matt’ were soaked through by the time they got here as the rain was pelting down by then and they had to have hot showers to feel human again.
We all ate fairly early and headed for bed.
What lesson did I learn today? Sometimes life s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-s us – and my taking on the role of Lead Co-Ordinator should do just that for me! (Hopefully it will iron out some of my wrinkles too!)
What am I grateful for today? The rain.
My saying for today is …
