Blog for Wednesday 13th November 2024

I woke up at one o’clock due to some dream, but luckily, I, turned over  and went fast asleep again.

Then I shot out of bed at about a quarter to four and woke up a little later!

Both Ken and Raafie did not move a hair when I got up – there was much snorting and snoring going on as I left the bedroom, and was led to Shamara’s food bowl, by Shamara herself. She is still convinced I may forget where it is! (She may be right one of these days!)

I fed my feline, made myself a mug of  steaming coffee and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and to complete the Bible Study I had begun for this morning’s Bible Study Group. I think Ian will still lead it today, but on getting there, he had been hoping that I would lead! Hah! Well, in  the end we both did a bit, but I am back in the saddle to lead from  next week, as Ian was as  keen as mustard for me to take over leading again! It requires quite a bit of serious studying!

From Bible Study Group we went in to Long Flat as Ken needed fuel for the quad bikes, especially seeing Paddy, Tamryn and Matt’ will be here for a few days, arriving on Thursday.

Once home Ken headed off to sleep and I continued doing the washing and I dared to defy the weather and hang some of the washing  out. I could not leave it there for too long as the storms were rolling towards us fast. I did manage to get a few of the washing things dry and other items a bit drier than they had been.

I also managed to whip all the washing off the line just before the skies opened and down came the rain! Good timing for an old lady  and I hot footed it back inside as the first drops of rain plopped down hard.

For the rest of the afternoon I continued doing more and more washing – I stripped the beds in the main shed area as they had not been done while I was away, but that was not too terrible as Paddy et famille were only  here for a few days at a time, and I think they were only here once while I was away.

In the late afternoon today, I did some of the Bible Study – beginning for my leading next week in the Bible Study Group. I find if a do a little bit here and there, I manage to get quite a bit done. Eventually.

I have a Zoom meeting for the NLIS (National Livestock Identification Systems) tonight – from 7 to 8pm I must be honest and say it is not that exciting for me, but I really need to keep up with whatever they  are doing as we are plugged into their systems.

It did not make for riveting viewing or listening to!

Tonight, we will have the butter chicken again, as we both enjoyed our meal last night. But tonight, I will make it with rice.

Early this morning I put my rusks on again to dry out a little more, as the rain and moisture in the air can make them a little soft.

What lesson did I learn today? To not give up  on what I have to do.

What am I grateful for today? Our Bible Study Group – all such good friends of ours.

My saying for today is …
