I woke up last night at half past eleven and realised that I still had my hearing aids in! Oh dear! Being eighty is beginning to show already!
I also forgot to set my alarm on my i-phone but woke up anyway at ten past four this morning without any assistance.
I had my Quiet Time, showered, and packed our things for Bible Study Group this morning.
I woke Ken up at about half past eight as I knew we had to get going a lot earlier than normal what with all the roadworks happening right here at our Highway gate. But our timing was good as we arrived at our gate as the "Follow-Me" vehicle drew up there, so we were able to get out chop-chop!
Yesterday when I was in Wauchope at Ritchies I bought a tray of these miniature donuts, each filled with either a vanilla cream, strawberry or some other berry filling for Bible Study Group today. They were very yummy I must say.
We always have such a nice variety of delicious teatime treats there - this morning we had slices of orange and melon; a spinach and cream cheese loaf; seaweed gluten free biscuits with a large bowl of Hummus; and the miniature donuts. All that for just the seven of us today!
Again, none of us were starving when we left our Bible Study Group this morning - either physically or spiritually!
When we - that is Ken and mwah - got back to our river crossing, there under the shade of the trees on the bank were two men from the electricity department having their lunch and enjoying the lovely scene down there.
Today was another outage day - no electricity again! I wish I had realised that yesterday when the electricity came on, as I would have done all the washing for my trip away then.
When we got home Ken headed off for a snooze and I did not know what to do really as there was no electricity, so, I began to sort out what art stuff, reading stuff, knitting or smocking things I wanted to take with me to Fishermen's Bay and also for my two weeks in Port Macquarie when I look after Felix for Mariaan and Tinus.
As soon as the electricity came on again - at about three - I put on the washing and as soon as it was done, I hung it out hoping that it would dry before nightfall. It was.
Tonight, we will have tiny potatoes cooked in butter and garlic, cold meats - beef roast slices, cold roast chicken, ham, and corned beef, plus large mixed tossed salad for our supper, as it has been another hot day and that meal should end our day nicely.
Wow! I am off on the train tomorrow to spend a week down near the beach with Mich' - which should be delightful. I certainly have had a wonderful celebration for my eightieth stretching out and out and out! Spoilt brat that I am!
I am typing my blogs now on my beautiful brand-new HP OmniBook 5 with a lovely little pale pink mouse to whip around the screen with - and it is also a touch screen which works so well for me! Our children have certainly spoilt me rotten.
What lesson did I learn today? To plan, pack and then relax and in that order!
What am I grateful for today? I am gobsmacked at what our children have done for me - just showered me with incredible love and gifts and more gifts!
My saying for today is ...
