Thank goodness Ken was awake when I was struggling to climb out of bed – over a rumpled duvet, blankets and one hairy dog, as it was only a quarter to three. And there I was thinking I ha overslept again but my man informed me otherwise!
When I got up at just after four o’clock it was still very dark but there was no sound of rain on our tin roof. Good sign!
Later, when it was lighter, I could see that the new day had come wrapped in layers and layers of gossamer fine misty drizzle. Thankfully very light, so I am not even sure that it would have registered.
Shoo! I finished gluing onto the color cardboard the numbers and the books of the Bible, after which I laminated them all. Then I had to cut each up – so again 128 little tickets had to be cut and I must admit that I had a welt on my hand from the cutting so many times. But … hey, they are now done, ready for the games to begin!
I am still not sure whether I will be able to get to school tomorrow, so will have to wait until tomorrow morning. At the moment the river is still too high for me to be able to cross it in the ute’ and the tractor is on the other side! I will have to wait for when Paddy and Tamryn get here to see if they can cross on the tractor. So, today I think I had best order online more groceries as it looks as if we are for some heavy rain this coming week! Can you believe that!
When I saw the forecast of rain for our area next week, I realized I had better organize groceries online today, so that Paddy and Tamryn can get them across to us tomorrow when they cross on the tractor. We cannot get out as the tractor is on the other side. I would rather err on the side of being overly cautious for I know how quickly we can be marooned here!
So, I really tried hard to be wiser in my online ordering today – not like last time when I ordered ten 250ml of Long-Life thickened Cream instead of the 1litre Long-Life Milk! This time I double checked the sizes!
Tonight, we will be having the lamb cutlets served with cheese potatoes, and peas. So, I only have to cook the veggies tonight.
What lesson did I learn today? To work through my To Do List from top to bottom.
What am I grateful for today? Basically, no rain during the morning at all! Wonderful!
My saying for today is …
