Blog for Sunday 15th February 2026
My alarm went off at four and I quickly slapped it into silence as I did not want to wake Dee, my sister who was sleeping just down the passage from me. She did not move a muscle, so all was well. Instead of getting up straight away I lay in bed cuddling Savvy for a bit and then I got up and had my Quiet Time – but just a short one this morning as I would continue having that when my sister left a little later. She was off to have breakfast – by kind invitation from her daugh

“Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!” I sent an ecard to my man and hopefully he opens it first thing this morning. It is just a lovely thing to be able to tell someone as often as you can that you love them. I was up nice and early this morning, and I love the way Savvy gets up with me and then runs back to bed and snuggles into it while it is still nice and warm. The day arrived with edges – just the odd soft downpour of rain which came and went. There was a gentle wind blowing

I was up at four this morning. I had slept in Mich’s study and so had my laptop set up on her desk already, so I was able to be as quiet as a mouse, so did not disturb Josh’ or Paulina this morning. I went downstairs to shower and get dressed for the day at just after half past six as I thought the plumber was coming back to work today, but in the end he did not. Anyway, I was ready for the new day, dressed and squeaky clean nice and early. Josh’ and Paulina – once they were

My day began only at about six o’clock this morning. Why? Because I battled to fall asleep last night and I also knew that Mich’ and Robert would be getting up at about six o’clock as they had LOT to do before leaving for Seal Rocks this morning and I did not want to disturb them any earlier than necessary. The problem being that they are renovating two bathrooms upstairs where we all are – Robert. Mich’, Josh’, Paulina and mwah so there is stuff everywhere. Add to that, bedd

I rolled out of bed in an energetic sort of roll! It was four o’clock in the morning and time to get up and begin the new day that had arrived silently at our front door. I went up to my studio, had my Quiet Time, packed what I needed to take to our Bible Study Group, made the egg sandwiches and packed them in a cooler box, then packed my suitcase. I woke Ken up and eight o’clock and we left the farm at about nine and headed into Wauchope for our Bible Study morning. Today in

I arose from a tangle of sheets, duvet and one little dog at four this morning feeling pretty crumpled myself! Yes, I had been dreaming again and yelling in my poor man’s ear. I feel dreadful that I put him through all that almost every night. I would stop it if I could, but I do not seem to be able to! We had to go through to town today which was a bit of a pain as I had so much to do at home, but it will have to wait until I come home again. We left the farm late this morni

Oh, my herb! I only rolled out of bed at half past five this morning! What is happening Gail Morgan? You had better sharpen up your act dearie! I meant to mention in my blog yesterday that I was so impressed by Paddy because he had put on a load of washing for me when we were out at church, AND he had hung it out on the washing line nog al! He had also washed the bed linen off the bed that had experienced the squashed lizard episode! Because I got up so late today, I was cons

I rolled out of bed feeling a tad tired – I was yelling again last night, and Ken had to wake me up to stop me dreaming. Shame, poor guy he must dread going to sleep at night because he never knows what I will do – scream in his ear, try to whack him, or I may fall out of bed with a dreadful thud, blah blah fish paste. Not restful for the poor man! But … on the bright side, there is never a dull moment though! I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and watch the sun cra

I was up and out of bed at four this morning. But I had had a turbulent and broken sleep last night and Ken had woken me up to stop my nightmare again! Shoo! I thought by this time in my life I would have outgrown this nonsense, but … obviously not! I had my Quiet Time downstairs this morning as I had worked on my laptop in our living area last night where the air con’ was working and left it down there overnight. That meant there were no creaking stairs this morning as I did

“Happy Birthday Tayla!” for the second day running! Silly me sending her ecard et cetera yesterday instead of today. My age was showing again! I woke up at just after three o’clock, which seems to be my sleep pattern lately, and then was delighted to be able to turn over for the last few minutes and snooze a little longer before four o’clock arrived promptly! I had my Quiet Time at four o’clock this morning and then stayed up in my studio to make sure that Paddy slept in thi

I again woke up several times last night but happily turned over and continued to sleep thankfully. I was out of bed just after four o’clock this morning and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time. Yoh! Those wretched creaking stairs – they make such a noise but only when one goes up them the first time of the day. For the rest of the day, they squeak or creak not! Paddy was up early and he left to go through to Port Macquarie to deliver the last of his lectures, and he w

I woke up a couple of times during the night and in the early morning, so I only got up just after five this morning! G-r-e-a-t, just when I needed to be up early! Never mind, I made myself a coffee and tiptoed up the stairs to my studio to have my Quiet Time. About an hour or so later I heard Paddy moving around downstairs, so I went down and began to make the sandwiches for his day of training these people up from Sydney, and I also made sandwiches for our Bible Study Group

Yoh! Last night I must have gone to sleep very quickly indeed as Paddy arrived (apparently – as he told me this morning) on the farm at about nine o’clock and I was already asleep! I remember Ken asking me if I would be awake when Paddy arrived on the farm and I said I would try to be, but that was that as I went to sleep! At 12.15am this morning, I woke up suddenly with a loud ringing in my ears – Rats! I had left my hearing aids in when I fell asleep, and the batteries had

I had a good sleep last night – well, that I was aware of. Ken says he is astounded that I get up at the hour I do get up at, as I talk, yell, or leap about when I sleep and should wake up wrung out or at least feel as if I had been left in a tumble drier for a week! W-e-l-l, sometimes I do feel like that! I made myself a coffee and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time. No reading through the Bible chronologically this morning – as that is not published on a Sunday – bu

Shoo! First day of the second month of this year! Time stands still for no one! I woke up at four o’clock and was up and out of bed as soon as my alarm began her ditty. I made myself a steaming hot mug of coffee and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and then get ready for church. G-r-e-a-t! I could not find my car keys! Now, that is something that does not often happen to me as I always put them in the same place each time – in my handbag. But … nope! Not today, Jose

I woke up at twenty to four this morning so was able to just lie there for a few extra minutes before the first “T-r-i-n-g!” of my alarm. I was out of bed pronto and slipped out the bedroom to make my first mug of coffee for the day, before going up to my studio to have my Quiet Time. Wow! January is now almost over – one month down for 2026 already! And so far in my chronological reading through the Bible again in two-years, I have finished the Book of Genesis and am almost

This morning seemed to clap its hands loudly to wake me up! I rose out of bed to meet it. It was four o’clock on Friday 30 th January 2026 I made myself a coffee and slowly wended my way up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and plan my day. After which I tidied, swept and generally got our home neat for the day. I did not continue hemming the smocked dress as it would have required too much time and I had to leave the farm to go into town today. I will finish the hemming on

I was up and out of bed at twenty past four this morning – and ready to live the height, length and width of0 this new day! Love those mornings when you wake up just excited to be alive! It is such a good feeling! I had my Quiet Time up in my studio and later I went downstairs at about seven o’clock and with a seriously determined expression on my face and with an attitude to match, I yanked out all the ironing I had to do. There was to be no deciding whether I wanted to do

My goodness we are nearing the end of January 2026 already! How on earth has that happened so quickly, people? This morning, I was up and out of bed pronto. I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and then get my goods and chattels together to take through to our Bible Study Group. This morning, I also took my almost completed smocked dress for Zara to share with the ladies - to show them that I had almost achieved my goal, but by next week I will no longer have it here

Wow! I only woke up and got out of bed at six o’clock this morning! This heat is getting to me big time! I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and put on the fans already to ward off the heat in this new day. Later I put on four loads of washing and hung it all out on the washing line under an overcast sky, but I knew that there was no possibility of any rain and so it would dry. It did! Dry. Today I was determined to do as much as I could on this little smocked dress
