Blog for Wednesday 31st December 2025
Wow! Here we are today – it is the last day of 2025 – can you believe that? This year has flown by so fast I feel as if I have missed much of it, and yet I have been present for every single day! Crazy feeling. I had my Quiet Time up in my studio at just after four o’clock this morning and then uploaded my blog and answered emails before coming downstairs again. I did a few more embroidered bullion roses on my little smocked dress for Zara – our brand-new great-granddaughter.

Blog for Tuesday 30th December 2025
I sort of flipped myself out of bed this morning at twenty past four and into the second to last day of 2025! Incredible! I have no idea where this year went – it simply has whizzed by at the speed of light for me, and that is for sure! I am not sad that it is almost over though as it has been a year full of incredible highs, and very low lows. I pray that 2026 will be the best year yet! It was almost half past four by the time I tiptoed up the stairs to my studio to have my

Blog for Monday 29th December 2025
I only woke up at just after six o’clock this morning feeling like a wrung out wet rag! Last night I had dream after dream and I vaguely remember Ken waking me up because I was hitting him in my sleep! Honestly, I wish I could just sleep quietly and peacefully – something I think Ken must wish for too, poor man! I made myself a coffee and then went upstairs to my studio to have my Quiet Time. I waved to Paddy, who was awake and sitting up in his bed, as I climbed the stairs.

Times have changed! Yoh! It was chilly last night and cool this morning. What crazy weather – registering only 9℃ this morning after all that heat we had around Christmas time! I tiptoed up to my studio at half past four this morning with a steaming hot mug of coffee in my little clammy claw – off to have my Quiet Time! I had no duties at church this morning, but I decided to leave the farm really early so that I could drop off some money with Jeannette. Jeannette is the la

“Happy Birthday Josh! We hope you have a fun day up in Queensland with Mum, Dad, Paulina and Dad’s cousins and friends.” I woke up at four and slowly eased my way out from under the duvet and blanket. Yes! Can you believe that! It was that chilly last night that I had on winter ‘jamas, and we used both the duvet and a blanket on our bed. What crazy weather! Today Paddy and Matt’ arrive on the farm, so I had to get into gear and to get our home looking less like a bomb ha

I woke up at four o’clock but only left our bedroom at about twenty past four. I was in slow mo’ this morning! I made myself a coffee and tiptoed up to my studio to have my Quiet Time. When I heard Mich’ and Robert moving around downstairs I went down to join them as they wanted to leave the farm by eight-ish this morning to drive up to Queensland to Robert’s cousins for a few days. No one wanted breakfast, preferring to just to have coffees and rusks. They will stop on the r

Wow! Christmas Day has arrived! I hopped out of bed and slowly made my way up to my studio, yes, and up the creaking staircase to have my Quiet Time up there. Robert, was the next one to get up with Savvy who wanted to go for an early morning walk. So, out they went for a short stop. Oh, how Savvy has simply loved chasing the guinea fowl and they have enjoyed raising their voices in loud protest against this indignity! This being all part of the farm’s appeal! Action, noise b

"Microwave instructions: Heat for 2 minutes. Reality: Stare through the glass for 1 minute 59 seconds like it’s a Netflix thriller." This morning, I was up bright and early, none of that lying in bed for a few extra minutes. I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and then much later I tiptoed downstairs again. Robert was up and moving, but the rest of the household were still in the Land of Nod. I made a big brekkie today – poached eggs, toast, bacon, leftover garlic

Yoh! Murderous thoughts crossed my mind as I heard my alarm clock start to shriek at four o’clock this morning! But … I controlled myself and turned it off gently before rising up off the bed and stepping into the new day before me. I tiptoed up the stairs to my studio but oh dear, those stairs cracked, groaned and creaked as I tried so hard not to make a sound this morning though no one moved as I climbed up to my studio, so hopefully that meant no one had been disturbed by

When my alarm began to shriek my body demanded that I sleep a little longer and I did. I only rolled out of bed at just after five o'clock this morning! Lazy wench! I slowly tiptoed up the creaking stairs to my studio to have my Quiet Time and then later I went downstairs again, and I almost knocked Robert over as I walked into our living room. Robert was there having just taken Savvy (their little mutt) for a walk. Savvy loves the large open spaces on the farm where she can

Wow! 2025 is certainly drawing to a close and quickly too! Only ten days left of this year. I shot out of bed as if scorched at four this morning and before my alarm thought of playing its monotonous ditty. I felt a bit like the white rabbit in Alice of Wonderland’s story, muttering, “I’m late … I’m late!” And I am sure I had the same expression of said rabbit too! I hit the floor running! You know those sort of days, when you just got to move as fast as you can and get as mu

Oh no! I honestly felt like I had only just gone to sleep when my alarm began her little ditty in the wee hours of this morning. Yoh! Some mornings it is really hard to get one’s body out of bed and into the new day! But … hey folks! I managed to start my day a few minutes after four this morning. A round of applause for me! I had my Quiet Time up in my studio and then it was all systems go – go – go! I had a LOT to do today, and I was oh-so determined to do it! I began by cl

Oh rats! I forgot to set my alarm clock again and as I am so tired what with hovering on my broomstick, flicking the duster around with gay abandonment, scrubbing, washing, ironing et cetera it was simply a miracle that I woke up just after four this morning! I shot out of bed at great speed, thinking that I had overslept, so it was a lovely surprise to see that I was on track! I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and do some more studying on the Book of Revelation. A

But, with or without an alarm (to make sure that I get up at four o’clock in the mornings), I was awake and out of our bed at twenty past four this morning. I forgot to set my alarm last night as I was so tired that as I lay down on our bed, I was already fast asleep! Yep, I can get that tired, people! Today I had a lot to do and so straight after my Quiet Time up in my studio, I began … I had loads and loads and loads of washing to do – blankets, duvets., duvet covers, pillo

I sort of inched my way out of bed this morning, hoping that someone would say “Don’t get up yet!” but nary a sound came from my man or my dog! I was on my own! I went upstairs to have my Quiet Time and to get my mind in some semblance of order as we were off to town to do a fair bit of shopping. I like to plan out route so that we make as much of our time as is possible. While I was waiting for Ken to get ready for our trip to town I did all the ironing. Whoop-dee-doo-dee! T

I totally understand the psychopaths! My day began at four o'clock, but I only rolled out of bed at twenty past four. I vaguely remember Ken waking me up last night so I must have been yelling or making a noise! Nothing unusual, and yes, apparently, I was shouting! Oh rats! I had been bitten four times by a spider (I assume,) on my right index finger on the second joint and they had formed blisters and two were joining together. So, irritating as I am really busy and do not n

Meet little Miss Zara Hensley - our miniature princess! Here she is held by her Daddy, Malcolm. I was up late this morning as I stayed up later than normal last night, hoping to hear that Tayla had given birth to their

I woke up at before two o'clock this morning as I suddenly remembered that I had not set my alarm clock last night and I did not want to be late today. So, I sat up and set the alarm before settling down and falling back to sleep almost instantly. Now that, was unusual for me as I normally battle to go back to sleep! I got up when my alarm commanded me to do so, at four o'clock this morning. I took a cool drink up to my studio this morning as it was quieter for me to do so pl

I could hardly believe my ears when my alarm began her irritating little early morning ditty in the wee dark hours of today! Somehow the night had flown by at the speed of light and my body was trying hard to convince me that I really needed to remain horizontal for a lot longer. I did not listen. I got up! I made myself a strong coffee and went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and work out what I needed to do today. At about six o'clock Ken shouted up to me that Paddy a

I woke up to the tune of my alarm clock. Rats! It was time to get up and out of bed again. I rolled out leaving both Ken and Raafie still in the Land of Nod, looking terribly snug and content there. When I got up it was not raining but at about half past six it began to rain. Oh dear! That meant a soggy day in town for me today. Well, the farm needed every drop of rain it could get, so that was a small price for me to pay. Before leaving the farm, I checked the rain gauge, an
