It is a very Happy-Happy Birthday to one of my little sisters. Dee is only seven years younger than me and Sheelagh is nine years younger, but … today it is Dee’s special day. I phoned her this morning to check on what she was up to for her special day, and she had a full day ahead of being spoilt, so we arranged for us to get together on another day. This morning although I woke up at four o’clock, I debated on whether I should arise from our bed or not – the debate did not

Blog for Sunday 13th September 2026
Wow! I shot out of bed like a bullet down the barrel of a riflethis morning as I knew we had to leave the farm and I had to be organized to do so. I met Pumpkin at the bedroom door and we both strolled (yes, I had already slowed down!) into the dining room area for me to replenish her food bowl quickly. She also loves being scratched, tickled and brushed, so we have a little routine going every time I feed her. I had my Quiet Time, uploaded my blog for yesterday and checked –

Blog for Saturday 12th September 2026
I was up and out of bed on four o’clock, tip toeing out into the new day because Tamryn and Matt’ were still fast asleep in the main area of the shed. (Ken sleeps with the pillow over his head so he is not disturbed by anything.) Shame, they worked so hard on Tamryn’s container home yesterday that they were absolutely finished last night. This morning I had my Quiet Time, uploaded my blog and checked emails with a large blanket wrapped around me to ward off any thoughts of be

Blog for Friday 11th September 2026
Ah-ha! A new day had arrived silently in the dark and I got to greet it when I staggered out the bedroom and into the living area of the shed. As quick as a wink Pumpkin was waiting for me, demanding immediate attention to her empty stomach – nah, she really is such a well-mannered feline. She just waits patiently but watches me like a hawk! Once the food is dished out or in the process thereof, she loses any manners she may have had and dives in head-first and scoffs her foo

“There is nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate." – Linda Grayson I shot out of bed at just before four o/clock this morning – wide eyed but not quite bushy tailed yet! At the end of our bed slept Pumpkin, obviously to make sure she got her food as soon as I moved a muscle in the direction of getting up! And IN our bed slept Raafie so w

I only got up at a quarter past four this morning and I tip toed through to the living area, lit the fire, fed Pumpkin and had my Quiet Time. It was cool but not really cold in the wee hours of today, but I love the glow of the fire in the darkness of a new day, and I find it comforting and it warms the room quickly. Frik woke up and came staggering through at about six or half past six – I did not look at my watch at the time – and he had a coffee and biscuits and went back

Today we have another birthday in the family – yahee! this time it is Matt’s – Paddy and Ren’s youngest who is going to be married in March next year! “Happy Birthday big guy we hope you have the very best day and may the year ahead be your best one yet!” Matt' turns twenty-six today! I woke up very early this morning and then again a lot later and only rolled out of bed after five o’clock. Even the rooster was late in crowing this morning! Poor Pumpkin had to wait for her fo

I only rolled out of bed just before half past four this morning – what a lazy lump! There sat Pumpkin almost looking at her watch, as I was late for her breakfast today, and a cat can only wait for so long you know! I fed Pumpkin and then had my Quiet Time, uploaded my blog and checked my emails. The first thing I did this morning was put on a wash – I washed the blankets and covers that dear (not!) Raafie had left muddy paw marks in intricate patterns all over them! Then I

Sometimes you need to tie a knot in the rope and just hang in there! Yahee! Another birthday in our family today – this time it is Tamryn’s birthday, and a biggie one too. Tamryn turns thirty today, so a very special birthday for sure! It is lovely that Tayla, Malcolm and Zara are up from Melbourne to celebrate it with her too. A proper family occasion - a quiet celebration with just Paddy, Ren’, Tayla, Malcolm, Zara, Tamryn, Ashleigh and Matt’ there. Lovely! I got up at four

Have a Happy Birthday Ke! Yahee! It is Kerry’s birthday today – Kerry’ being our eldest daughter (who lives in South Africa) and early this morning I sent her a ecard and will hopefully speak to her later today, as South Africa is eight hours behind Australian time. I was up and out of bed at four o’clock and there was Pumpkin (Paddy’s cat) sitting waiting alongside my laptop on the dining room table, for me to feed her. I swear she has her own internal alarm clock set for fo

I woke up at twenty past three this morning and lay there not wanting to get out into the chilly new morning! I had both Ken and Raafie snuggled in bed with me and it was toasty warm compared to the air outside our bed! So, I lay there enjoying the warmth until four o’clock before I persuaded my body to get up and out. Yikes! Shock-horror it was a little cooler than I thought it would be, so I dragged the heater out of the bedroom and set it up, but then Paddy came through a

I was up and out of bed early this morning even though I battled to go to sleep last night. I think it was just knowing that we had to leave on our trip to the farm in the morning. I was out of bed just before four o’clock – had my Quiet Time, uploaded my blog and checked emails. Then I vacuumed (use the robot) and swept and mopped the floors through out our little home. I had packed my stuff last night so it was just the makeup, toothpaste and toothbrush, hairdryer and blah

How wonderful – the warmer weather has arrived! I did not even think about wrapping myself in my winter dressing gown this morning when I got out of bed; nor did I don my winter slippers because it was warm enough not to! Yahee! I had my Quiet Time, uploaded my blog from yesterday and checked all my emails. This morning Ken and I - yes, Ken is coming with me to our fortnightly “Coffee Club” meeting. This morning we are getting together at “Sage Express” near Kmart in Erina F

Wow! A brand-new month arrived at our front door in the wee hours of today! How wonderful. And … spring is in the air – tra-la-lah - it is warmer and getting lighter earlier too. Apparently, the weathermen have predicted a pretty warm day here today and an even warmer one tomorrow – up to 27℃ tomorrow! Yahee! I had my Quiet Time, uploaded my yesterday’s blog and checked my emails before showering and getting dressed for our Bible study Group morning. Ken and I left home at ab

After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him … The moral: When you are full of bull, keep your mouth shut! Will Rogers Yahee! What a wonderful sleep I had last night in our bed, which is now facing another way – after we did the big bedroom shuffle yesterday. We still have mountains of clothes, shoes, bags, drawers and blah blah fish paste lying around everywhere so hopefully I can get that

A great many people seem to end up over the hill without ever having actually climbed it! Unknown I was awake at three o’clock and then up and four o’clock this morning. I went through to my study to have my Quiet Time and noticed that my new laptop was “dead” – an absolutely blank screen. Honestly, my heart sank right down to beneath the floor tiles. I tried every trick I knew in the book to get my laptop to work, but nope, no can do lady! Whistle Dixie and find something to

I run every day for 20 minutes. If I miss a day, I add 20 minutes To the next day. This has truly Been a game changer. Tomorrow I’m supposed to run For 4 months! Oh, I had a wonderful sleep last night without waking up at all or hearing Ken cough. I was, as they say, ‘lights out!’ I got up and had my Quiet Time, uploaded my blog – again with hiccups with the internet. It seems to be a little unreliable that early in the day somehow. I also checked my emails just to make

Sorry I will have to try to sort my laptop out - yes, my brand new one. When I came through this morning at four o'clock it was dead - blank screen and nothing worked. I have no idea what, why or when it simply stopped and I do not have the time now to re-write my blog before we leave for church - so sorry. I could cry.

So true! I went to bed nice and early last night – in fact, I fell asleep while listening to one of my audio books. A common happening I fear, which means I have to do a lot of re-winding in the mornings! Again, I had another battle with the internet this morning, but thankfully it was only for a short while, so I was able to upload my blog from yesterday. It was frustrating to say the least though. I have also managed to sort out the daily Bible readings which had a small

The only BS I need in my life is bags and shoes.” — Unknown I woke up a couple of times last night – unusual for me – a quarter to midnight, then again at a quarter past two, before my alarm went off. I was as quick as a wink, slapping my alarm clock into a sudden silence before turning over and sleeping until six o’clock this morning. What a wicked old woman! Then as a result of my ‘slothnfulness’, nothing worked on my laptop! Yeah-yeah! There are
