I shot out of bed at the speed of light – why? – I have absolutely no idea why or what caused that spurt of energy at that time of the morning!
Seeing I was up bright eyed and bushy tailed I went into my study to have my Quiet Time, upload my blog for yesterday and check emails.
Then I woke Ken up at eight thirty as he needed to find out what time we have to be at the hospital tomorrow for his eye op – as we had had no notification of times or anything, which was more than a little concerning and a bit too Harry-casual for my liking!
Eventually, after much patience had been extracted from my poor man, he received the information we needed.
Ken has to be at the Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital by three thirty tomorrow afternoon, where he will have the first cataract removed and a new lens inserted.
Mich’ has kindly offered to drive us there as I have absolutely no clue of how to get there and am not good at concentrating on driving in heavy traffic and listening to a voice guiding me to I know-not-where! Wehreas the younger generations have grown up of listening and watching driving instructions whilst they are driving.
This morning I transcribed one of David Jeremiah’s sermons which was exceptional and I wanted to keep the notes for future reference. That took me forever and a day as there were originally eighty-nine pages to transcribe (that is with the time recorded on every second line), which I eventually whittled down to forty-two pages! Done.
Then I got stuck into the ironing. Done.
In the afternoon I walked to the Post Office – shoo, I should be getting fitter by all this walking I am doing! - to send off the forms et cetera to the Taxation Office to help me as I have no idea of how to correct this problem of claiming tax taken off which should not have been done apparently.
I am praying that this letter with forms attached will sort the problem out.
I walked quick-smart to the Post Office, bought a large envelope, addressed and registered it and off it went! Yahee! That makes me feel lighter already!
On my way to the Post Office I bumped into Tita (or Teretita which is her full name) – she is our neighbor in the unit above us. She asked me to make an inquiry at the Post Office on her behalf, which I did for her. I texted her the answer to her query.
Then I got my one painting of a giraffe out and did a background wash on it. I will have to wait until Wednesday to continue with the painting as tomorrow we will be spending most of the day at the hospital. It will be good for Ken to have that op’ as it really made such a difference to my eyesight after having the same op’.
I really am becoming quite laid back, which is a little scary, so best I up my game and get cracking at sorting out all the files I have in the two large cupboards. I need to go through each file to decide what is really worth keeping and what can be binned. It will take me several days of dedicated concentration to do that, but the sooner I start the sooner it will be done!
Okay, so today will be the first baby step in that direction!
Tonight, we will be having leftovers for supper so I can clear out the fridge tomorrow in the morning before we go to the hospital. I think I will have to w hip to the shops before we go out too.
What lesson did I learn today? Persistence and determination to do what I have to, but not what I feel like doing!
What am I grateful for today? That I have begun the long slog of sorting all my files out.
My saying for today is …
