Oh my herb! We are almost at the end of July – that is halfway through 2026 already! I don’t know about you, but time is whizzing past at the speed of light for me! Scary stuff!
I rolled out of bed a lot later than normal this morning and slowly shuffled into my study to have my Quiet Time.
In fact, I was on a “go-slow” sort of day as I was still in my pyjamas at half past nine this morning! Tsch! What a wicked wench!
Hey, folks! That is what retirement is all about – relax and do what you feel like doing! Heh-heh! And I am so gifted at doing that in life!
This morning I managed to use my i-phone to scan the documents I needed to send to the ATO and felt ever so clever for having done so!
Nah! Nothing modest about me!
In the afternoon I went to the shop – just a quick run there and back to pick up a few items we needed.
It really is such a blessing to be so close to the shops, and I cannot get over how long the fuel in my car is lasting! Whereas on the farm I needed to refill the tank every other week.
Once home again, I decided that seeing it is the weekend I would watch something on my laptop (as my study was toasty warm) but ugh, nothing of note. So, I gave up on that idea.
Tonight we will have cottage pie with peas for supper – something not too heavy for Ken’ but nice and filling.
Tomorrow we will attend the Greenpoint Baptist Church again. Apparently, they are having a Combined Baptist Churches evening mid-August sometime of “Praise and Worship” and our church is hosting the evening.
I put my name down to make a pulled pork slow cooker meal, and the church is supplying the pork (if you want them to,) and the coke and bbq sauce needed for that particular recipe. I believe that there are twenty-four of us women using our slow cookers to make the pork meal for all who attend the evening!
Paddy sent us photos of the farm wrapped crisply in thick frost this morning, which made me shiver just looking at it, as I remember those mornings well on the farm.
Today slowly disappeared as the night seeped in coldly. Yoh! How blessed are we to have a snug little home with heaters, blankets and warm clothing? Very blessed., I'd say!
What lesson did I learn today? To enjoy the simple things in life.
What am I grateful for today? Our snug and warm little home.
My saying for today is …
