I was up bright and early and had my Quiet Time.
Then I zipped through the shower and got dressed before I got Ken up.
Mich’ and Robert picked us up just after eight o’clock and we went to church with them. The church service was at 8.30am
I LOVED the sermon – a young pastor gave an excellent talk – he had prepared well, spoke clearly and well with dashes of humour in it too. Very good, but Ken does not like the loud music and wants to attend the Baptist church which he feels is not as loud. I am not sure about that, but I have already signed on there to teach Sunday School so will have to attend both churches, I think. Time will sort that dilemma out so I will not stress.
After church we bade Mich’ and Robert a fond farewell as they had much to do before starting work tomorrow.
Ken and I decided to go out for lunch to celebrate – a little late - our 61st Wedding Anniversary that had been a few days before. I booked a table at “Fedeles” an Italian restaurant not too far from our home and drove us there.
Again, it was too loud in there for Ken as he cannot hear when there is too much noise, but the food was good, too much though and it was expensive. But what the heck it is not often that couples get to celebrate a 61st Anniversary together.
When we got back home Ken headed for bed and I hauled out my knitting – this little baby jacket that I am knitting now is coming on so nicely. I am thrilled with it and hope to have it finished in a week.
Always the optimist!
What lesson did I learn today? To take one step at a time and not stress.
What am I grateful for today? Being able to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary together over a lovely meal out.
My saying for today is …
