Blog for Sunday 18th October 2026

Can you believe it – I woke up at one minute past four o’clock this morning! But … after a short while I snuggled down and slept for another hour or so.
I had my Quiet Time out on our verandah where it was light outside and I could watch the waves created by our ship – huge splashes of foamy white water following us – just beautiful.
Ken got up just after half past nine (our half past eight in Australia as we had had to set our watches an hour on last night to be on New Zealand time.) By that time I was pretty desperate for a cup of coffee as we had missed breakfast. Breakfast is from 7am to 9am.
So, Ken and I sauntered our way to Deck 4 (our cabin is on Deck 8 – and there are 15 Decks!!!!!) where Ken got us a coffee each and he had an oatmeal muffin and I had a cinnamon roll. All very yummy.

We found a nice seat which overlooked one of the many bars/lounges on the ship and we were there sipping our coffees when an aerobic class started in that particular bv=bar/lounge area. It was great fun watching all shapes, sizes, ages and nationalities and egos leaping around frenetically in full view of those, (like us) who gazed on in wonder!

Ken went up to see what he could see from Deck 15 but apparently, they had it closed – maybe too windy? Not sure. No, on Deck 15 it is only an enormous gym set up - Ken was saying it was incrediblhy well set up too. He was suitably impressed.
I went back to our cabin and I watched a movie – something I love doing. I watched “Online” – it was passable, but … I would not recommend it to anyone, put it that way.
Ken and I just relaxed – I read my book on our verandah until it was getting too chilly and then I read lying on the couch while Ken slept on our bed.

Then I caught up with all things that had needed internet on my laptop – as it was not working earlier – now all is well!
I had a marvelous time in the afternoon “wasting time” on Pinterest just because I could!
Tomorrow I will get more involved with what is available to do on the ship. Today it was nice to do basically nothing and just rest.
Then it was time to get dressed for dinner. Aaah! The pressure! (Ha ! Not!)
Tonight I had booked us into the "Normandy Restaurant" - French cuisine and we both so enjoyed our meal and we were seated right at the window so we could watch the sea not that far below us..

What lesson did I learn today? We will order room service for our breakfast tomorrow.
What am I grateful for today? A lovely gentle day in our beautiful cabin.
My saying for today is …
