One of the many reasons why I am so happy that we are living in Australia and not Africa!

Yoh! Only two days before we set sail for New Zealand! How exciting is that, people?

I woke up and had my Quiet Time, then uploaded my blog and checked emails.

I got myself ready for the day or rather … I was just about to when I received a text from Ren’, our daughter-in-law saying that our son, Paddy, had had what they thought could have been a mini-stroke last night. I am so thankful that Matt’ (their son, and who is one of our six grandsons) was with him on the farm and drove him through to Long Flat where the ambulance met them. And they took Paddy through to the Port Macquarie hospital. Better to be safe than sorry, plus Paddy has been fighting this extremely high blood pressure for far too long now, they - the doctors – need to find what is causing that and help sort it out.

These texts concerning Paddy came through to me at about half past six this morning.

Apparently, Paddy will be having an MRI this morning so hopefully with any other tests they deem necessary, they can help him get his blood pressure down to normal levels.

It really is very confronting when one of your children faces something like this. Scary. Overwhelming in fact! No matter what their age is. Paddy in my heart is still "my little boy - our first born" and I did my best not to hit any panic buttons!

Today I have spent a large portion of the day texting or receiving texts concerning Paddy. Thankfully I can tell you all that he has come through this scare unscathed! His ECG and MRI were both clear and the doctors have put him on blood pressure tablets and medicine to get his blood pressure to come down to normal. I cannot begin to tell you how relieved we all are for this outcome. Words are inadequate for that.

Paddy was saying that the attention he received was top class - he saw seven different specialists while in the hospital and he was super impressed by the way everything was handled. That was nice to know seeing we could not be there with him.

Today I finished all the ironing in the morning – a huge task, but it is done – well, for the moment anyway!

Dee, my sister popped over with some little lemon kisses for our morning tea, and I had some carrot cake for it too, so we did not starve! Dee brought me a gift of cash to spend on our cruise to celebrate my birthday as she was away when I had it. So, my spoiling continues! I am loving this!

After Dee left to return to work, I prepared the veggies for tonight’s meal. We – Ken, Mich’ Robert and mwah are having a small leg of roast lamb, gravy, mint sauce, a mix of sweet and ordinary potatoes roasted, green beans, cauliflower cheese, butternut, and fluffy white rice. Which we will follow with small milk tarts as a dessert with our coffees after the meal.

I think I have got ourselves organized, just the packing now and oh yes, and the Health Check tomorrow that we complete online, then it will be ready-steady-offie-go!

Robert popped over in the afternoon to begin to fill in the hole dug out for the plumber to fix the water leak the other day. And Robert came in for a quick chat, and he had a slice of carrot cake before he left – much to his delight!

Then at six o’clock Mich’, Robert and Savvy arrived to spend the evening with us. Yoh! It had got really chilly suddenly and again it was drizzling - but only lightly. Crazy weather.

We had a lovely evening together and Mich’ also brought their international plug for us to use so I can charge my laptop on the cruise Marvellous!

Mich’, Robert and Savvy (their little dog) left us at about nine o’clock to go home and Ken and I went to bed. I had lived another day of my life!

What lesson did I learn today? To have faith because although I may not know the next chapter of my life, I know the Author!

What am I grateful for today? That Paddy came through this health “hiccup” unscathed.

My saying for today is …
