Blog for Sunday 26th July 2026

My day began in the wee small hours of this morning when I staggered out of our bedroom into my study to have my Quiet Time, upload my blog and check my emails.

Originally Mich’ and Robert were coming over for a cup of tea with us today when we got home after church. Then Ren’ also asked if she could pop over to visit us for a cup of tea too, but … in the end neither of those parties could visit us!

Mich’ and Robert decided to have a serious workday at home clearing out their garage – which should take them several weekends to do! Then Matt’ needed to take Ren’s car into Sydney so she was without wheels to get here – things happen in a family, and plans are forced to change – but being family, we all accept the changes happily and make others in their place!

What is so nice is we are clsoe enough and will not be moving any time soon - so it is easy to get together another day!

Today Ken and I attended the Greenpoint Church service which was led by one of their young pastors who delivered such a good sermon this morning.

After the service we stayed and had a coffee before returning back home.

Ken headed off to have a snooze, and I fluffed around putting on washing, tidying and generally doing nothing much. In the end I opted to be a couch potato for the day.

I watched a documentary series on ‘The Predator in Seville’ - yes, what a little oink I was as I watched all three episodes one after the other!

It would make life so much easier if the baddies wore black hats and the goodies wore white! Instead, so often, those who commit horrific crimes have such open and homely looking faces! One could even say "innocent" looking!

Later I did some knitting and just generally had a marvelously quiet day.

I made chicken and cheese toasties for our supper, and then we both were in bed nice and early.

What lesson did I learn today? It was good to have a day of rest.

What am I grateful for today? Being able to have a quiet day at home.
