Blog for Thursday 18th April 2024

Yahee! It is Jase’s birthday – our eldest grandson turned thirty-two today! Wow, where have all those years gone? Shoof! And they have disappeared oh-so fast. Oh, that we may enjoy each and every day as the years go far too quickly.

Well, in that thunderstorm last night we got 36mm in a few minutes! So today everything was damp, soggy or muddy.

I was up at my normal time of four this morning, fed Shamara, made my coffee, tip=toed about so as not to disturb Tamryn or Matt’ and then went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time.

Later, after our morning coffees and rusks Tamryn and Matt’ left on the quad bike and tractor to see what they should tackle today out on Tamryn’s site, but they came back a bit dejected. It was just too muddy for them to do anything out there, so they decided to leave the farm and go back home to do other things – like searching for things online, checking prices of timber, paint, corrugated iron and all those exciting things when you are building a home.

Tamryn and Matt’ left the farm after I had taken them across the river and we had said our farewells, at about midday-ish.

Ken had a quiet day and I continued with my cattle records, then I finished my one study, and painted my nails – getting ready for my train trip down to the Central Coast, to Mich’, Robert and Ethan tomorrow.

I did the ironing and began to pack my little suitcase and then I also put away the ironed clothing.

Just before another storm arrived this afternoon, Ken went out to the back of the farm to check on our cattle out there. Nothing to report there.

He also went to check on what Matt’ and Tamryn had done on the Tamryn’s site. Ken took some photos, but it was very wet and pockmarked with puddles. Shame and they had worked so hard.

What lesson did I learn today? Enjoy and live in the moment.

What am I grateful for today? Tamryn and Matt’s safe arrival back home.

My saying for today is …
