I woke myself up last night and frightened the hell out of poor Raafie who was sleeping snuggled against me when I yelled out loudly in my nightmare. Poor little dog! I then battled to settle and go back to sleep again which caused me to sleep in again this morning. Rats!

Well today I had a huge pile of chaos to sort out in my studio on my ‘To Do List’.

Yahee! At half past eight this morning the water tanker arrived and pumped water into our tanks, so we now have water, but no gas to heat it!

When the tanker left half an hour later, our good friend Paul (who lives in Ellenborough arrived to assist Ken in attaching the new gas regulator. Paul, with a one-two-three did that. Hallelujah! So, can you believe it, we have water AND gas with which to heat the water. The excitement is almost too much for me to bear!

Added to that Paul brought his wife Karen, a good friend of mine with him, so we were able to sit and chat whilst the men worked outside. Plus, Karen brought me a huge bag stamps – not the postage kind, but the ones one can use to stamp and create cards et cetera with. I was looking forward to going through them all. I did and there were over ninety of them!

While all this was happening, Paddy went out to dig more holes for his trees.

When Karen and Paul left Ken came in to sleep, and I went up to my studio to continue sorting all the chaos I created up there yesterday. I sorted through a lot of the paperwork and files, books, cards and all things paper. Tomorrow, oh no, on Thursday I will finish the cleaning. Tomorrow, we have Bible Study Group and Ken needs to get his bloods done before he has his MRI.

At just before three o’clock Paddy came in for a brief rest from the heat of the sun, and time to read and do some computer work, and I decided to have a snap snooze. I had been up during the night and think that was why I was suddenly feeling seriously wilted! I slept for twenty minutes and then I was good to go again.

Shame, it looks as if, because of the heat, that Paddy has lost some of the trees he bought. I am praying that they will revive, somehow. Many times, they do.

I did a couple of loads of washing – I am just delighted now that I am able to do so. I hung out the first lot at just after four o ‘clock this afternoon as the sun was still hot enough to dry it. I did more washing too and will hang that out first thing in the morning before we headed in our Bible Study Group in Wauchope.

In the late afternoon Paddy started sectioning the Large River Camp by fencing it into smaller camps ready for strip grazing again.

Tonight, I was able to sear the steaks as we now have gas – thanks to Paul fitting the new gas regulator for us.

Slowly-slowly everything is falling back into place – as it normally does. One just has to ride out the hiccups in life and smile and wave at the passing parade!

I have made good headway in my studio but still have all the cleaning to do. I need to work out a schedule for cleaning our home and all in it, plus the windows that are seriously dirty now. I only have eighteen days before Robert, Mich', Josh' and Paulina will be arriving to spend a few days plus Christmas with us here on the farm, and we have lots of engagements in between!

What lesson did I learn today? To pac

e myself and get things done in time.

What am I grateful for today? Lots of things like - water, gas, good friends and one hard working son!

My saying for today is …
