I shot out of bed at four o’clock with my body muttering unintelligible (thankfully!) sentences.
I had my Quiet Time and then at about half past eight I showered and got dressed to meet the ex-South African group at “Cheeky Charlies”.
Ken did not want to come with me and that is understandable as it is mainly women who attend these gatherings – all of them widows.
Us ladies – (I introduced my new friend Kathi – also an ex-South African to this group last time) – had a great time together this morning. I am madly trying to remember names and put faces to those names as each fortnight different faces appear and ones I know are away!
Today, the ladies present were Marietjie, Eloise, Judy, Kathi, Alma, Pippa and mwah and we had a lovely morning together chatting, laughing and getting to know one another better. We met at “Cheeky Charlies” and I would go back there again as the food was good, the surrounds pleasant and we were all warm out of the biting breeze that was blowing.
For me too I had to find my way there to “Cheeky Charlies”, so I now have a “new place” to add to my list! Marvellous!
I treated myself to a latte and a blueberry scone with cream! Wicked woman!I only got back home from our morning coffee date at lunch time! Yes, us women had had a wonderful morning of just chatting and laughing. It was lovely!
For the rest of the day I did washing, cleaned out home and finished knitting the little baby matinee jacket that I had been knitting. I now have two baby jerseys to sew up and sew buttons on.
In the late afternoon I reminded Ken to put our bins out, which he did the good man.
Tonight we had the leftovers from the lamb roast I did with the veggies and gravy too.
Then it was time to snuggle into our warm bed. I am so grateful that it gets dark quickly because I then can go to bed without looking too crazy!
What lesson did I learn today? To just enjoy each moment in life., for life is short and passes quickly!
What am I grateful for today? A beautiful day spent with a new group of friends – which was great fun!
My saying for today is …
