Blog for Wednesday 3rd December 2025

I was up and out of bed this morning at four o'clock, even though I had a nightmare and was yelling out again last night. Ken said that he had patted me gently, so as not to wake me, but to disturb me from the horrible dream. It worked!

I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and get my things together to take through to Bible Study Group in Wauchope this morning.

We got there with five minutes to spare, and it was nice to have everyone there, bar Keith who was working today. I am delighted that they are all enjoying this series on the Book of Daniel, as I have and do love it, even after listening to and going through it for the fifth time - if not more!

As so many in our group will be away after next week, we will end our Bible Study Group for 2025 next Wednesday, and it is a good place to call a halt, as after that we get into the prophecy section of the Book of Daniel.

I am also pleased as Ian and Marg' were thrilled with the card I had done the calligraphy on in the Bible to be given to a young girl off to Uni' next year.

We had a marvellous teatime spread at our Bible Study Group - as usual - a variety of biscuits with a dip, and another variety of biscuits, brie cheese, strawberries and dates, plus a spinach pull-apart/tear-apart bread and I made some egg and lettuce sandwiches too. Food fit for royalty!

After Bible Study Group Ken and I said our fond "Farewells!" and headed - oops no! Before we headed off to Port Macquarie, Ken had his bloods done in Wauchope, (for the MRI he has to have next week) and then we drove on into Port'.

Ken was heading for Bunnings, but I needed my hair cut desperately, so he dropped me off at Settlement City and he went off to Bunnings, while I had my crowning glory snipped to within an inch of its life!

Put me in an orange overall or a red and white striped one, and with m y new cropped haircut, I would look the part!

I also popped into Woolies to buy a bag of assorted biscuits for the 'Just Cuts' girls teatime breaks - about six different kinds of yummy biscuits and dropped them off at 'Just Cuts' where I get my hair cut, as a "Thank you!" to them all for my 2025 haircuts!

I also popped into Big W, as I needed some nail polish and I bought some boxes of chocolates to give to our Postie and the ladies at the Long Flat Shop, again as a "Thank you!" for their hard work in 2025

I missed a call from the Headmistress of Long Flat Primary school this afternoon, so will have to phone her in the morning. She did say that it was not urgent thankfully.

After working on the fencing in the Large River Camp this afternoon I could see that Paddy was trying to get the water pumping into the troughs in the Large and Small River Camps - a horrible headache to sort out, as the no water running into these troughs could be the result of a cracked pipe underground, or dirt in the pipes and all those not-so-exciting reasons.

I had a nice chat to Mich' when she phoned this evening and I cooked the butternut, peas and made mashed potatoes to go with the steaks I had already seared. I decided to cook veggies tonight as we have not had any for a few days and I miss them. Well, that is not really true as we have had salads, but you know what I mean.

After I clean the studio tomorrow, I will work out the ingredients I will be needing for the menus and food I will be making for when Robert. Mich', Josh' and Paulina are here over the Christmas period. They should be here with us for about six days. Yahee!

Paddy, Ren' et famille are staying at home in Terrigal this year - and I guess it will all depend on when Tayla has their little one. She is due mid-December. This little girl will be Paddy and Ren's first grandchild. So exciting!

Because it is so light for long and until late each day, we are eating later and later so it is no wonder we are feeling a little lack lustre in the early mornings, because we got to bed so late!

What lesson did I learn today? Patience. I had an hour wait until my hair was cut!

What am I grateful for today? I am ever so grateful for my hair cut today. I look a lot less like Einstein now!

My saying for today is ...
