Blog for Friday 16th January 2026

Today's 3-year-olds can switch on laptops and open

their favourite apps. When I was 3, I ate mud!

A new dawned and I hopped out of bed at four o’clock this morning, went up to my studio and had my Quiet Time.

When it was light enough to see outside, I looked out and admired the farm which had been washed by the rain overnight and was looking refreshed and all the colors seemed even brighter. It was going to be another good day!

After my Quiet Time I tidied the kitchen area and packed the dishwasher again.

Then it was time for me to hit our bedroom big time, bristling with brooms, mop, dusters, cloths and water!

I banished Ken from our bedroom. and he had to migrate to the main shed area out there and choose a bed to on which to recline for the day!

In the meanwhile, I scrub-a-dub-dubbed our bedroom, moving furniture around and removing cobwebs where those crafty eight-legged creatures had thought I would not find them! Ha! Gone!

I was only halfway through this serious spring cleaning when Ken pipped his head around the corner to tell me that Peter, who was working on Tamryn’s container home up on the hill, would be dropping in later to give us an invoice for Paddy.

Then not even twenty minutes after that, Ken popped his head around the doorway again to tell me that Tony, our pastor was going to pay us a visit for afternoon tea.

That did it! I had to stop and try to create a pathway through the mess I had created in order to clean up the original mess! So, I quickly tidied our living area, where I had moved things into, dusted that area, swept in there again and found some delicious chocolate biscuits and also slathered little gluten free rice crackers with cream cheese and sweet chilli sauce for our afternoon tea.

It was good to see Tony again. He had driven up to Gingers Creek as he wanted to take some photos west of here, and then on his way home stopped off here to visit us for a while. Very ice of him.

After Tony left us, I continued in our bedroom tidying. This time I started on my cupboard, and tomorrow I will continue cleaning the room but this time on Ken’s side of the room.

Yesterday, I changed the bedlinen too, and I love that feeling of sliding into a newly made-up bed with fresh sheets and all. Such a blessing!

The day slowly dissolved and then it was time to go to bed,

I had had a fulfilling day, so I went to sleep satisfied.

What lesson did I learn today? Just go with the flow.

What am I grateful for today? More rain! Hallelujah!

My saying for today is …
