Sorry that my blog is late but I think my laptop has breathed her last - the screen is blank and the mouse light is stuttering but nothing is registering! Frustrating as my blog was written just ready to upload! Life!
So … I will have to start again using the iPad instead. Rats!
That is another undiluted lesson in patience coming up!
Last night during another nightmare I let out a blood curdling scream which caused my poor man to levitate as his ear was a mere few centremetres from my mouth! But as he was landing back in bed he very dryly remarked, “I will fetch Raafie (my little Jack Russel who sleeps on our bed) off the tractor!”
Even though my heart was still pounding as a result of my nightmare, I got the giggles. Isn,t laughter the best? It can chase the scariest moments away in seconds. I had this vision f Raafie catapulted off our bed in terror and cowering outside on the tractor not knowing what had happened!
I was then able to go back to sleep … still smiling!
Today I managed to complete the Cattle Movement list and email it down to Ren’ (four daughter-in-law as she does the farm books). Yahee! That is a weight off my shoulders. Next I need to update my own cattle records and I will be happy.
I did three loads of washing and enjoyed listening to the slap-slap-slap of the wet clothing as it flapped loudly on the line outside. It is such a happy sound to me even though it means more ironing!
I completed my talk for the “Kids Talk” in church this Sunday. Tick.
I allowed myself to do some smocking on Tayla and Malcolm’s little baby girl’s dress late this afternoon. I am making it for when she is two-years old, but would love to have finished it by the time she joins our tribe in December this year!
Ken went out early this morning to pick up the bale grabbers that our friend Peter loaned him. They just make it so much easier and quicker for Ken to cart the bales over the river to store here on our side.
In the late afternoon Ken did his now normal letting the cattle in then an hour later, letting them out again of the Pteridium Camp, to prevent their suffering bloat from overindulging on clover. So far, it has worked.
After Ken had fed the dogs and evening had arrived we sat down and did some of the Bible Study together of the Book of Daniel. It was good to get back into it.
For our supper we had a light meal of cold meats, tossed mixed salad and hard boiled eggs.
Today has been another beautiful day to have lived in.
What lesson did I learn today? To write things down to do each day and to do them.
What am I grateful for today? Another picture-perfect day.
My saying for today is …
