My day began before my alarm clock could start its irritating tune as I woke up before it could.
I made myself a coffee and toddled up to my studio to have my Quiet Time.
In my diary I saw that Ken had a cystoscopy down in the Wauchope hospital later today, so I woke him up to let him know that, and for him to decide when he needed to do to get there in time.
First Ken got up and put the bale grabber onto our tractor and then he began to cart the bales of lucerne across the river, and he gave one to the cattle, much to their delight.
When I had had my Quiet Time I put on a couple of loads of washing – mainly the bedding from the main shed area and hung it out to dry. There was a nice breeze blowing so the washing was soon dry.
I ironed the dry washing from the day before and the ironed most of the washing from today. I just have the sheets to iron tomorrow.
I then scrubbed my white canvas shoes as they were so dirty. They are almost impossible to keep clean on the farm, but … I try to.
Then at about midday my good man waved to me as he set sail for the hospital, and he had to also go to the Rural Centre.
About an hour later I received a call from Ken saying that the hospital knew diddly squat about any cystoscopy for him! What a tah-do! Then to add to that … today .is a holiday so the Rural Centre was closed! Oh dear, I felt my popularity with my man plummeted suddenly!
Ken had to simply turn around and come home.
While Ken was out I. It out the rest of the little dress that I am. Urgently smocking and then began the tedious task of marking the sleeves for smocking too. That took me hours and hours. But hey, it is done! Now, I need to do all the tacking to pull the sleeves up to be ready to smock.
Mich’ and Robert are home again after spending the long weekend at Seal Rocks where the comms’ are bad at the camp there. It was good to hear that they had had a lovely time together and that the weather was kind to them.
Poor Paddy had had another crazily busy night in emergency – apparently ticks and snake bites being the main culprits causing harm to animals.
I was in bed and fast asleep before anyone could say “Jack Robinson”! I was just plain tired.
What lesson did I learn today? Next time to check with the hospital if Ken’s cystoscopy is still happening before sending him in!
What am I grateful for today? Another beautiful day.
My saying for today is …
