Oh, my herb! I only rolled out of bed at half past five this morning! What is happening Gail Morgan? You had better sharpen up your act dearie!
I meant to mention in my blog yesterday that I was so impressed by Paddy because he had put on a load of washing for me when we were out at church, AND he had hung it out on the washing line nog al! He had also washed the bed linen off the bed that had experienced the squashed lizard episode!
Because I got up so late today, I was constantly feeling as if I was six steps behind … and I guess I really was!
After my Quiet Time I showered and got dressed for the day. Paddy showered after me and once he was dressed, he packed and Ken took him across the river to his car, and he - that is Paddy - headed for home – Terrigal on the Central Coast. It was sad to see him go as he had been with us for a week, and I was just getting used to having him around!
Today has been overcast and the sky seemed to leak off and on. Just a light drizzle but it was good to have a cooler day and for the ground to be wet. I do not think we had much rain as such, but I appreciated what we did get.
I allowed myself – again, yes, I know again! - a quiet day in which I did some transcribing and lots of washing and that was about it. The washing I tumbled dried as I will need to iron it before I leave to go down to the Central Coast on Wednesday.
I am going down by train – which I love, love, love doing. Ha! Five and a bit hours of pure reading time for me! Wonderful!
I am going down to visit Mich’ et famille and look after Savvy (their little dog and my friend) and Grace (their cat, also a friend of mine!) while they go off to Seal Rocks for the weekend. I will also spend a few days with them on their return and hopefully we can make plans concerning Ken’s and my moving soon.
My sister will also come and stay with me for two nights while I am at Mich’ and Robert’s
so, we can catch up with all our news and maybe watch a movie or two together.
Oh no! Paddy phoned distressed this afternoon as he had forgotten the little smocked dress for Zara here on the farm! Shame, he had put it where he ‘could not forget it’ but did so anyway! But no problem as I am going down on Wednesday so I can take it down with me to give to him, so he can take it with him to Melbourne on Thursday!
The day slowly wound down, slightly soggy from the on and off leaks from the sky, but it was still nice and cool which would make for a good sleep later.
We had the leftover lasagna and salad for supper, and then I headed straight away for bed and was soon fast asleep. I could not even stay awake to watch my TV program because my eyes snapped shut!
What lesson did I learn today? Some days one must slow one’s pace to suit the day. or maybe itis the other way round!
What am I grateful for today? The rain.
My saying for today is …
