I shot out of bed at twenty past four – tsch-tsch! I am getting lazy now days, am I not? All this lying in bed for a ‘little longer’ must stop! At least I seemed to have slept well last night, I do not remember Ken waking me up from a nightmare thankfully.
Although it was still dark, I could sense a dampness to the new day, and it was still cool which makes me so happy for all the trees that Paddy has planted on the farm. These last few days have been kind to them.
I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time, and I am enjoying going through the Gospel of Matthew slowly each morning. I pray that I keep up my studies on the New Testament every day. I managed to do the Two-Year Chronological Walk Through the Bible, over 2024 -2025 - finishing up at the end of last year. This year I am starting the New Testament for the first six months, then will continue studying the Old Testament after that, so that is my Bible Studies for 2026 planned!
At about seven o'clock I went downstairs to shower and get dressed for a day in town. I woke Ken up at eight o’clock and we managed to leave the farm at nine o’clock. Wonderful! A good start to our day.
First stop, the Rural Centre. Then the chemist and after that we headed into Port Macquarie. First stop there was Spotlight, then Aldis followed by Harvey Norman.
At Harvey Norman I chose the microwave oven (there were none in white that I liked) which was black, but we had to place a back order as there were none in stock! So, we have a two to three week wait for it to come in, but it will be worth the wait.
Well, that was enough time in town for the two of us, as it was very busy still. I guess a lot of people still on holiday.
AS I was driving us out of Port Macquarie, Ken suggested that we could go to the Wauchope Country Club for lunch, which I thought was a splendid idea. So, off I drove us there. Even there it was crazily busy!
Ken ordered a seafood basket for his meal, and I had flathead and chips with a salad – both meals were delicious and especially mine as I had not had to think about it, buy the ingredients, or cook it. Not did I have to wash my plate! What a lovely meal thanks to my husband!
We got home about half an hour before a storm rolled over us – well it almost skirted around us, but we did get some rain thankfully. It also cooled the remains of the day.
Oh rats! Before I had even counted to three the rain was over! In fact, I think I barely got to counting to two!
Later, we had another storm skirt over us, but again it quickly zipped past us leaving only a few drops of rain in its wake. Och! So frustrating when the farm is crying out for rain.
I crawled into bed as early as I could, which turned out to be not that early anyway, but I was tired and I was soon fast asleep.
What lesson did I learn today? To do what I have to do no matter how I feel.
What am I grateful for today? Lunch at the Wauchope Country Club.
My saying for today is …
