Blog for Saturday 4th October 2025

I was up and out of bed before I even knew it – standing bemused alongside the bed wondering how I got there!

It was time for a good strong mug of coffee to start my day and to convince me that I was truly awake.

Then I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and to start my day in earnest.

I-wrote out my ‘ToDo List’ for the day and it began to work my way through it. What a good girl!

I put on a small load of white washing and hung it out to dry          .

I had planned to have a really a laid-back sort of   life normally has other ideas and today was no exception to that rule! Because just as I was about to get my smocking out, I remembered that I had not entered all the Farm Expenses for the month! Oops! There is a lot of forgetting happening here Gail Morgan – watch yourself dearie!

So, off I did trot to do that pronto and emailed it down to Ren’ – our daughter-in-law. Done. But not so easily, as my laptop has most definitely stopped working which is most frustrating. I will have to get someone to try to resurrect it for me. I used the farm’s I-pad but am not that sure of how to do things on it as I was on my laptop. I will learn though.

Today I spent time working out a grocery list and menus for next weekend – for our stay in Port Macquarie for my birthday party! Shoo! I honestly cannot believe that I am almost eighty years old – time has simply flown by!

I am looking forward to having family – those who could come – and friends around me as I am sure it will be a happy time of celebrating.

In the late afternoon Ken went out to move the cattle in then out again of the Pteridium Camp.

For our supper I grilled steaks and made some garlic buttered potatoes to serve with them. The meat simply melted in one’s mouth – delicious.

It was another early night for me and Ken followed me not long afterwards.

What lesson did I learn today? To do what I had to do before what I wanted to do?

What am I grateful for today? Another glorious day.

My saying for today is …
