I was aware that Ken was going to try to get up to watch the Springboks take on the All Blacks (rugby union) match, on about one this morning, but I was not aware of my man getting up and he was still in bed when I got up at a quarter past four!
But while I was having my Quiet Time, Ken popped his head around the door to give me the score of the rugby match, but I am not sure whether he had watched or had just checked the score on his i-phone. I will ask him later when he is wide awake.
Ken had checked the score on his i-phone! Sensible bloke!
I had my shower and got myself dressed for church and at eight o’clock I woke Ken up, who had a terrible battle with the blankets, but eventually won the war and got up!
It was nice to be back at church as we are slowly getting to know some of the people there – but it is a much larger church than the one we belonged to in Wauchope, so I think it will be a while before we have met everyone AND remembered their names!
After church we stayed and had a coffee with the people who had stayed too, and I met another new person around the tea/coffee table.
Then Ken and I went to the chemist and Coles for a few bits and pieces, then on to refuel my little car before heading back home.
By the time we got back home the sky was overcrowded with grey fluffy clouds with scribbled promises of rain all over them, and the temperature had dropped considerably.
As we got back home Ken headed off to watch the replay of the Springboks/All Black’s earlier rugby match and I headed off to my study to do some studying and maybe later some cross-stitching.
Okay, once my eyes were well and truly crossed, I stopped cross-stitching as it involves a LOT of concentration and a body can take so much of that!
Tonight, being a Sunday night, means the kitchen only provides light meals or those easy to make! So, I made chicken, avo’ and cheese toasties for us. Easy and very yummy.
I am looking forward to Paddy’s birthday tomorrow and cannot wait for him to open his gifts.
I am so looking forward to seeing him again soon, as I miss seeing him. When we were still on the farm I got to see him every fortnight for a few days at a time.
Oh, my herb! Hester wrote a few more chapters of her book and sent them to me today! How spoilt am I! It was such a lovely surprise, and I was going to delay the pleasure and read them only tomorrow, but … no could do! I read them now instead! Thanks so much Hester and another salute to you for good writing!
What lesson did I learn today? To enjoy every part of the day.
What am I grateful for today? Another lovely day.
My saying for today is …
