Blog for Thursday 27th August 2026

I woke up a couple of times last night – unusual for me – a quarter to midnight, then again at a quarter past two, before my alarm went off. I was as quick as a wink, slapping my alarm clock into a sudden silence before turning over and sleeping until six o’clock this morning. What a wicked old woman!
Then as a result of my ‘slothnfulness’, nothing worked on my laptop! Yeah-yeah! There are always consequences not so?
Well, the internet was dropping in and out like a yo-yo. Then Wix would not allow me to get onto our webpage – bless them – (not!) Even my usual daily Bible readings would not work.
Yes, talk about a crash course on patience to make up for yesterday - when I destroyed any patience within this body of mine in one day!
I decided to go and shower and start thinking of all the wonderful things in my life instead of being so grumpy about one thin, like patience!.
It worked!
I managed to get the rainfall figures off to Paddy and I got my blog uploaded – very late I know, but it WAS uploaded. Then I managed to sort through my emails but my daily Bible reading was still not working properly.
More patience in demand over here!
I also decided to spoil myself and watch the two evenings of “The Block” that I have missed watching due to a variety of reasons this morning. Again, wicked!
In order to soothe my guilt, I put the washing on!
I asked Mich’ and Robert to come over for a late breakfast/early lunch on Sunday after church. They will go to their church, and we will go to our one and meet here in our little home later.
In the afternoon Ken and I went to the shop to get more of his favorite Iced Coffee, and I also needed a few items. I cannot get over just how easy it is to do the shopping here and the shops are just around the corner too. Marvellous!
I did not need to do any cooking tonight as we still had a lot of apricot chicken, mash and peas left over, so no need to huff and puff in the kitchen at all!
Weather wise today has been strange – in the early morning it was heavily overcast and quite cool and felt like a possibility of rain, but then in the late morning out popped the sunshine to chase away any thoughts of rain, but by five o’clock it was getting cool again and time to think of putting the heater on again.
The changing of seasons, I guess.
Ken and I are enjoying the sereis "Clarkson's FArm" and are watching one episode each evening together.
What lesson did I learn today? To begin learning more patience again!
What am I grateful for today? Being able to watch and catch up on watching “The Block”
My saying for today …
