I was up and out of bed at twenty past four this morning – and ready to live the height, length and width of0 this new day!
Love those mornings when you wake up just excited to be alive! It is such a good feeling!
I had my Quiet Time up in my studio and later I went downstairs at about seven o’clock and with a seriously determined expression on my face and with an attitude to match, I yanked out all the ironing I had to do.
There was to be no deciding whether I wanted to do it or not, I was just to get going and DO it!
That little hiccup of making the decision and following through with it, is always the hardest part, especially when it is hot and your energy levels are not at their optimum, but … I ironed for three hours and now I am feeling positively angelic and very pleased with myself!
For the rest of the day, I hemmed the little smocked dress – (but still have about a third of the skirt to hem to do.) I spent ages just finishing off the hand sewing inside the dress where I had lined it and to make sure all the tacking stitches and odd bits of cotton ends have been removed and that it is neat and tidy.
Yahee, I should have this little dress finished, ironed and ready for Paddy to take with him when he goes to meet his first little grandchild next week. I will take a photo of it for you tomorrow.
Three couples, that we are very close to, from our ex-South African group have arranged to meet up with Ken and I this Sunday, after church for lunch at the Club. They want to catch up and to chat about our leaving the farm and moving to wherever. I look forward to seeing them all for the fun and laughter we always share.
I received an email from the school, letting me know that my classes will only begin on 19th February. There is always a bit of a delayed start at the beginning of every year as the new little Kindies start a little later. I am looking forward to getting back to teaching SRE again.
Tonight, Ken and I finished off the pizza I made yesterday and once it was warmed, I topped it with chopped avocado which made it even more delicious!
What lesson did I learn today? To complete my To Do List no matter how I was feeling.
What am I grateful for today? An audio book to listen to as I ironed.
My saying for today is …

The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts.” —
Marcus Aurelius
