Yahee! I had a better night sleep last night – no fighting hippos, bears or elephants for me last night like I had had the night before! No wonder I am sometimes tired when I wake up! I was seriously active and had such impressive moves! Move over any Kung-Fu master!
As soon as I was up and out of bed, I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and plan my day.
My ‘To Do List’ for today was not long but the few items I had written down would take me a while to complete. So, I began with what was the least exciting thing to do – the Cattle Movement Chart! It was slow, needing a LOT of patience, persistence and determination to get it done. I am almost there but need the NVD book – which I know not where it landed up after being out in the ‘yards the other day! I asked Ken to please look in the Cattle Tag box for me, which is in the bottom shed.
Once I have that book in my clammy claws I can enter the cattle sales for the year and “Voila!” The Cattle movement list will be done! I will make sure it is done tomorrow.
Next, I sent off the SRE lesson critique done the other day by one of the teachers at school to the powers that be – that is for their information on my ability to teach. Done.
I paid several accounts. Done.
Then for a short while I worked on my talk for ‘Kids Talk’ in church this Sunday, I will finish that off tomorrow but have basically done the main work for it.
During the late morning, I received a call from Paddy about Tayla, (their eledest and our our eldest granddaughter) whose Baby Shower I recently attended. There was a scare concerning their baby and she had to go into hospital for a quick check up. Thankfully, she is okay and back home now. But it made me realize how we take our health, totally for granted, not realizing that things can change in seconds.
I woke Ken and phoned our friends to pray for Tayla and the baby, and I was so happy to hear back from Paddy later that Tayla was back home and the little one’s heartbeat was strong. “Thank You Lord for that!”
I finished off my day by doing hours and hours of ironing, and it was such a good feeling to have ironed so much! I only have four shirts to iron in the morning now. Wonderful!
Ken went out again later in the day to move the cattle in and out of the Pteridium Camp to allow the cattle an hour and no more, to chomp on the clover in there.
It was early to bed for me tonight as I was really, really tired. I think I was already asleep when taking off my slippers at the side of the bed!
What lesson did I learn today? How important prayer is especially in a crisis for filling one with an inner peace and hope.
What am I grateful for today? That Tayla and their little baby are okay.
My saying for today is …
