Wow! I only woke up and got out of bed at six o’clock this morning! This heat is getting to me big time!

I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and put on the fans already to ward off the heat in this new day.

Later I put on four loads of washing and hung it all out on the washing line under an overcast sky, but I knew that there was no possibility of any rain and so it would dry.

It did! Dry.

Today I was determined to do as much as I could on this little smocked dress for Zara, (our latest little great-granddaughter,) and I was not going to let anything deter me. I tacked and then sewed using my machine. I put the sleeves in, made the buttonholes, sewed on the buttons, marked and ironed where the hem was to be and so I am almost at the end of completing this goal!

What a great feeling. I will be able to begin the hemming tomorrow probably in the afternoon as we have our Bible Study Group in the morning.

In the late afternoon, or rather the early evening, I did some Bible studies – just going over the notes I have taken so far on my Two-Year Chronological Reading Through the Bible. I so enjoyed doing it over 2024 – 2025 and so decided to do it again.

I had my main meal at lunch time – just eating leftovers – the chilli chicken, rice and that new veggie dish that I made the other day. Ken ate in the evening and picked different leftovers – cold roast chicken, smoked brisket, baked beans, hard boiled eggs and so on.

Ah yes! That reminds me, I boiled five eggs and then later mashed them with butter, mayo’ and seasonings, ready to make the egg sandwiches that I normally take to our Bible Study Group for morning tea.

I was so happy to hear from Paddy today that his shift at the emergency vet’ clinic was not as chaotic as he had expected this morning. Wonderful!

I contacted the school I teach SRE at – the Long Falt Primary School – to check on when I start to teach this term. I am never that sure, but it is not this week anyway. I cannot believe I am standing on tip toes waiting to begin another new year of teaching and learning with these children – very exciting as they teach me so much.

Tonight, I went to bed nice and early but then I could not fall asleep easily. Rats! Old age or over tired? Probably both!

What lesson did I learn today? When you have a goal or task ahead, put your head down, do not be distracted and by taking baby steps you will achieve it.

What am I grateful for today? A lovely quiet day at home.

My saying for today is …
