Blog for Tuesday 3rd February 2026

Yoh! Last night I must have gone to sleep very quickly indeed as Paddy arrived (apparently – as he told me this morning) on the farm at about nine o’clock and I was already asleep! I remember Ken asking me if I would be awake when Paddy arrived on the farm and I said I would try to be, but that was that as I went to sleep!

At 12.15am this morning, I woke up suddenly with a loud ringing in my ears – Rats! I had left my hearing aids in when I fell asleep, and the batteries had run out, hence the loud ringing. But I initially thought it was my alarm going off, and in my drowsy state, I leapt out of bed, thinking the new day had arrived! Luckily, I quickly saw my erroneous ways and snuggled back into bed and was soon fast asleep again!

Welcome to my crazy world of sleep or lack thereof!

Oh dear, my little Busy-Lizzie – that being my robot vacuum and mop – was not charging properly, so I went onto Gemini to see if I could solve the problem using AI. I think I have! The new dust bag was not in properly I believe and now all systems are “Go!” I will leave her charging all today and sweep and mop tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we have our Bible Study Group meeting, and I also drop my little car off to hopefully have the air con’ fixed. If they do not have the part needed, I will have to bring my car in again another day. So, fingers crossed that they have the part needed!

Tomorrow Paddy is demonstrating on a farm near us so, and he will need some sandwiches et cetera for lunch and tea times for the people attending the lectures he will be giving, so I will make those for him tonight or maybe very early in the morning.

Paddy left the farm at about midday I think to go into Port Macquarie where he was training a group of people. But first he had to go out to the Wauchope Industrial area to pick up a part for the farm's water pump – well, something to do with the irrigation system.

Once Paddy had left, I did some paperwork, then I got stuck into sorting out the reams and reams of emails that I have allowed to pile up. Silly woman! It is so much easier to read, mark, print, file or delete on the day they arrive, but sometimes, I just do not feel like doing that as there is so much blah that comes through. It is my own fault which makes it highly irritating!

In the afternoon after slogging through all those emails I decided I would reward myself and allow myself to read my book for a bit. So, I did!

I also added more veggies for our supper tonight as Paddy will be home for that, and he loves vegetables like I do.

I am pleased with myself as I made a pledge with myself, to drink more water. I am just a lazy drinker and eater, so I need to be conscious of that. Today I drank a full two liters of water – which was really so good for me. I am very chuffed. Long may I keep that up!

The day was slowly swallowed up by the approaching night, and Paddy got back here to the farm at half past seven laden with groceries for the sandwich fillings for me to make for the people for tomorrow. I will do that early in the morning.

I put the supper out and we each helped ourselves when we were ready. We then heated our individual plates of food in the microwave when we were ready to do so. I did it that way as Paddy had work to prepare for his lectures tomorrow, and I had a TV program I wanted to watch, and Ken was easy and would eat when he was hungry.

It was an early bed tonight for all of us. Apparently, the lectures that Paddy gave on training in Port Macquarie today went well, but one of the attendees from Queensland was unable to get there so it was a small group of people int he class.

What lesson did I learn today? Do what you have to when you have to.

What am I grateful for today? That Paddy’s lecturing went well for him.

My saying for today is …
