Blog for Tuesday 6th January 2026

Oh ha-ha! Obviously written by a husband!

Yahee! I was up and out of bed on the dot of four o’clock this morning. Ready and waiting to see what today would bring me. Each and every day is different so one should really be excited by what could possibly end up being a fantastic day!

I went up to my studio and had my Quiet Time and did a little more work on my Kids Talk for Sunday.

Today I did an awful lot of cleaning, cleaning and cleaning and there is more still to do! I need to get to cleaning all the windows and the blinds we have are so old that I really need to replace them all.

I cleaned out both fridges which was a labor of sheer persistence and determination on my behalf.  But now we are the owners of two brand new looking fridges without any ‘used by date’ dishes turning gray and hairy at the back! I normally have at least one hairy tomato asking to be thrown out to the chooks! Today only a few wilted, sad looking lettuce leaves.

Once I had our home looking neat again – and the dishwasher unpacked and then packed again, I worked on my Kids Talk for a bit.

In the afternoon I tried to draw a couple of stick figures for my Kids Talk story – I am thinking of maybe - as I tell the story - to get the children to come up and finish coloring the drawings in for me. That should hold their attention and that of the congregation too!

Ken has had a quiet day today, sleeping for most of it, but obviously his body demands that of him.

After five o’clock I went and sat outside to enjoy the last of the day as it slowly slid down the sky and to read my book whilst glancing up at the guinea fowl every now and again. I love them as they are such strange birds and never cease to amaze me with their antics.

Oh yes, just before I went outside, I watched a full-length movie – a Christian one on YouTube called “I’m Not Him”. It is so nice to watch something that was not violent, crammed with explicit sex scenes, swearing, blaspheming and perversion.

Tonight, will be the last of our cold meats and salads for a while – for tomorrow I cook!

Again, I crawled into bed as soon as I could and was soon fast asleep, having safely arrived in the Land of Snort, Snore and Snooze.

What lesson did I learn today? To enjoy whatever it is, that I have to do.

What am I grateful for today? Another lovely quiet day at home.

My saying for today is …
