Blog for Wednesday 11th February 2026

I rolled out of bed in an energetic sort of roll! It was four o’clock in the morning and time to get up and begin the new day that had arrived silently at our front door.

I went up to my studio, had my Quiet Time, packed what I needed to take to our Bible Study Group, made the egg sandwiches and packed them in a cooler box, then packed my suitcase.

I woke Ken up and eight o’clock and we left the farm at about nine and headed into Wauchope for our Bible Study morning. Today in Bible Study Group we completed Daniel chapter 10 – shoo, the last couple of chapters have been a lot to take in, but … our group is soldiering on and learning a lot in doing so!

Again, as usual, we had a lovely morning tea and then Ken took me to the station. He left me there a bit earlier than my train was due, but I was happy to be there in the air con’ and I had my books with me to read. Ah, what a luxury!

I thoroughly enjoyed my train trip today – as not long after I had boarded the train, the one train attendant came along and said, “Ah! Yes, I remember your face”, (to me) “you are not travelling with this lady alongside you, are you?” I replied that I was not, so he moved her to another seat which allowed me to have two whole seats for the whole trip. Wonderful!

It is all about who you know in life, isn't it!

I read and read and read and read until about three minutes before we arrived at the Gosford station! I read a book that I have had on my Kindle for some time but had never read called “Unnatural Causes” written by a Dr. Richard Shepherd – about his life and the cases he dealt with as a forensic pathologist. Very interesting.

The train was running late, in fact, for most of the trip we were running twenty-six minutes late. But right at the end before we pulled into the Gosford station, we had made up some time and were little under ten minutes late.

Robert was on the platform there to meet me, and Mich’ was in the ute’ parked outside the station waiting to pick us up. Good timing all round!

We drove straight home and were greeted there by Josh’, Paulina and Savvy (Savvy, being Mich’ and Robert’s little dog.)

We watched some TV together as we ate our supper – everyone making their comment on the show, and much hilarity was had by all.

We went to bed at well after ten – presumably an early night for most of them but they were – well, Mich’ and Robert were leaving tomorrow morning for a few days at Seal Rocks, so had much to do before being able to do that.

I battled to go to sleep – I tossed and turned but eventually managed to fall asleep. I think sometimes I get over-tired and that is when I battle to fall asleep. I can oh-so identify with babies over that!

What lesson did I learn today? To seize any moment that I can to read any one of my books!

What am I grateful for today? Another lovely train trip.

My saying for today is …
