Blog for Wednesday 28th January 2026

My goodness we are nearing the end of January 2026 already! How on earth has that happened so quickly, people?

This morning, I was up and out of bed pronto. I went up to my studio to have my Quiet Time and then get my goods and chattels together to take through to our Bible Study Group.

This morning, I also took my almost completed smocked dress for Zara to share with the ladies - to show them that I had almost achieved my goal, but by next week I will no longer have it here as Paddy will take it to Melbourne for Zara.

I am so happy to say that they were so thrilled for me and admired the little dress with many an “Ooh’s!” and an Aaah’s!” expressed.

We spent another lovely morning with our friends at Bible Study Group and we completed, from the Book of Daniel, chapter 8 – which is quite a difficult chapter to have done, especially for those with no prior knowledge of this book or of the history at that time,

It was another really hot day, so after our meeting Ken and I went to a company that does air conditioning in vehicles and we have booked my little car for next week. I am praying that they will have the part needed to repair the air con’ in my car but if not, they will order it and then repair it. Yahee! In this heat one truly needs air cons’ that work!

We made the usual rounds to the Rural Centre for things for the farm, the supermarket for a few groceries and then, on our way home, we did a short detour to drop off the other quad bike seat to have a new cover made for it. The big quad bike’s seat is looking good now after receiving a new canvas and vinyl seat cover, so now it is the little quad bike’s turn to smarten up.

We got back home at about half past two I think, Ken headed off to have his siesta, and I unpacked the groceries and as tired as I felt I could not sleep, so instead I watched a documentary on this guy who does free climbing. My goodness gracious golly gee! I lost my stomach so many times just watching him climb the skyscraper Taipei 101. I think it is 1700ft tall with 101 floors! Crazy man – he only uses his body – no safety net, no ropes, no parachutes – nothing! And he did it!

After watching that I was delighted to feel the earth beneath my feet as I walked around our home!

I made us a pizza for supper tonight, and I must admit it was simply delicious. I am not a great fan of pizzas, but we both enjoyed this one.

On getting back home this afternoon I realized that I had left my Bible in town, in Ian and Marg’s home - where we had our Bible Study Group meeting this morning. Rats! Yes, I have lots of other Bibles here that I can use, but that is the Bible that I am busy marking for this year.

Never mind, Marg’s will bring it to church on Sunday.

I keeled over early and went to bed but battled to drop off to sleep for a while. Then I eventually arrived safely in the Land of Snort, Snore and Snooze, well pleased to be there!

What lesson did I learn today? To always check that we have everything we took with us to anywhere.

What am I grateful for today? That I have no passion for climbing skyscrapers!

My saying for today is …
