Yoh! We are galloping up to the last two months of 2026 already – can you believe that?

I woke up before four o‘clock and lay there until I felt like getting up – which was still before four o’clock. I had had a good night’s rest so was bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to step into the new day.

I had my Quiet Time, uploaded yesterday’s blogs, checked emails and then showered and dressed.

I want to go to Erina Fair to get my hair cut as I have that Albert Einstein look about me again – all white, wild, and woolly. Not a  good look!

When I am at Erina Fair I need to get a new mouse for my laptop as this one is not working properly at all. Initially, I thought it was the batteries, but after inserting several brand-new-out-the-packet ones and it still did not work, I gave up trying. At Kmart they are as cheap as chips (well, I am not sure that chips are still cheap actually now that I mentioned it!)

W-e-l-l. I went to Erina Fair on my own at about ten o’clock. I had my hair cut … short … So, that when I got back home Ken called me “baldie” which may describe my hairstyle! Ha-ha! The difference between a good and bad hair cut is one week, so I am not stressed as the hairdresser has cut it in a style that I like, and I only have to wait one week before it kicks in!

I bought us a custard apple bun each, two packets of chocolate chip cookies for Ken – he only likes the Aldis ones – and a tin of peppermints for Ken when he and Matt’ drive up to the farm in a few days.

I did not need to buy a mouse for my laptop after all as with a few sharp whacks it had began to work again?  It is amazing how a smack works wonders – whether administered to the seat of education on a child or some machinery!

The roads and the shops were really busy today – maybe because it is a Friday – I am not sure, but hey, I am becoming quite at ease with this whizzing around in traffic! Just as long as I know where I am going and how to get there, I am fine.

As it was a beautiful day, I decided to listen to one of the last few chapters of my audio book sitting outside. So, I grabbed the cushions for one chair and sat out in the sunshine for about twenty minutes before coming inside again. It was lovely and the little birds kept flitting in and out to get some seed or bread crumbs.

After a stern talking to myself, I began the ironing which took me the whole of the rest of day. Honestly, it took teeth gritting and grinding stuff to remain there and finish it all. But … hey, I did it!

For our dinner tonight we had the last of the pork dish that I had made the night before. It even tasted better the second night! So, I will most definitely make this recipe again.

I had planned to maybe watch a movie or some episode on TV but my body told me, “Nah, that is not going to happen old dear, you are off to bed instead!”

And I did what I was told sand was asleep post haste!

What lesson did I learn today? If you have something you have to do, do it!
