Blog for Tuesday 27th October 2026

I cannot believe that today is our last day of sailing as we arrive in Sydney Harbor at 6.30am tomorrow!
I got up horribly early this morning without realizing that I had until much later! I was so confused with the time changes – anyway that gave me a longer than usual Quiet Time, and to also get my head around what I needed to do today in preparation for getting off tomorrow.

When I opened the curtains early this morning the skies above were grey and there was rain out over the sea and the s hip was moving a lot. But later the sun popped out which made the water sparkle beautifully. We have had the best weather on the cruise ever!

As I woke up very early I was keen to go down to get a coffee and so I showered and got dressed and was down on Deck 4 by about half past eight. I remained there for ages and ages, as I had another coffee and even a coke before Ken came down. I just sat there watching people coming and going and listening to my audio as I did so.
When Ken came and had a coffee with me, I then went to finish off our shopping to use the money we were still in credit for. Good. Done and dusted and I am so hoping that when the draw for prizes at 3pm comes that we will win something! You never know!
At about one o’clock I came up back to the cabin and began to pack my suitcase as we have to put our cases outside our cabin by 10pm tonight. We have a Priority listing which means we will be one of the first passengers off the ship in the morning. We have to keep a small case for our toiletries and overnight clothes with us.

I will miss this “little home” that we have had for the last eleven days.
This ship is so well organized and it runs like clockwork without any hitches – honestly!
Alas! We did not win the Lucky Draw at three o'clock today.
Tonight we have a late dinner as I could not get in any earlier – and I booked ages ago too. We are off to the “Cosmopolitan Restaurant” tonight at 8.45pm – sob-sob, our last meal on board!
Yoh! I am going to miss all this spoiling and that is for sure!
It was so nice to see a beautifully sunny day outside for our last day on the water.

Ah-ha! We went down to the Cosmopolitan Restaurant early and bless them they found us a nice table and allowed us in!
I cannot believe that is our last meal on this beautiful ship – I think I will go to sleep sobbing tonight!
Tonight, for dinner I had the Cauliflower Flan as a starter, and Ken had Corn Soup. Then I had the lamb curry which was really nice and Ken had some pork dish which he enjoyed, and we both ended our meal with ice cream – Ken with vanilla and me with chocolate!
We sat in the lounge on Deck 4 just because we could and watched the passing parade before heading off to our cabin.
I knew we had to fill in some important forms to allow us back into Australia, which I had not seen, so I asked Ronnie – our cabin attendant, and bless him, he ran off and got us some extra forms plus a sheet of how to fill them in too! He even got us a few extra ones in case we made a mistake! I will miss his helpfulness every day – a good man.
What lesson did I learn today? To appreciate every last second onboard this wonderful ship.
What am I grateful for today? Another beautiful day at sea!
My saying for today is …
