Blog for Monday 17th August 2026

Yahee! A new day arrived – a little soggy, as we had a few showers, but it was new and it was here for me to live the height, length and width of it any way I wished to do so! How wonderful!

I got out of bed and into my study to have my Quiet Time, upload my blog and check emails.

Later when I was dressed and had something to eat, I decided to phone my sister, Dee, and find out all her news as I did not speak to her last week – somehow time flies past even when you are taking things slowly!

We had a long chat and then she asked me what I was doing this morning – and I replied just pottering around, so she suggested we go on an adventure, and she would pick me up in half an hour.

Well, there was the “Ready-steady-office-go” to my day! Dee picked me up at about half past ten and she wanted to go to Crackneck Bay, or some such place as she had never been there before.

W-e-l-l, I was meant to be the navigator but my friends from the farm area know that was NOT a wise move because even using Maps or Wayz and those helps, do NOT help me one iota! I have a gift of getting lost!

I am delighted to tell you all that we DID get there (phew, now that is a miracle right there!) but there was no café (as promised) anywhere in sight!

So, Dee knew Shelly Beach, which was not far from there, so we headed off there and sat outside and sipped on our coffees and chomped out cakes. Dee had a lime cheesecake with a side of ice-cream, and I had a Danish custard tart. All very delicious.

It was lovely sitting out of the wind and in the warm sunshine near the sea, and we caught up with all our news as we chatted on.

Dee brought me back home at one o’clock and when arrived back home Ken was up!

I have been incredibly lazy today – not good! As I did more cross-stitching – I think I will have to put it a way for a while as I am getting nothing much else done!

I put my vacuum robot on to clean the carpet in the lounge and dining room and also sorted the fridge out and swept. I will mop tomorrow – one cannot do too much work on one day. They say housework never killed anyone, but I am not willing to take that chance!

Oh good, tomorrow we have our Bible Study Group and we both look forward to that – that is Ken and mwah.

Tonight, I will make a light supper – I think poached eggs and bacon and mashed avo’ on toast. Nothing wrong with having breakfast for supper I reckon! I will find some baked beans for Ken too.

What lesson did  learn today? More patience through cross-stitching!

What am I grateful faor today? Delicious morning tea with my sister.
